Swan At Forton

The Swan had long be known for their carvery lunches, and had not been since the change of hands to a Joules pub and hotel. The car park was packed and we nervously went in to see if we could eat without a booking. We arrived to find the dining area full of diners, and was offered a friendly smile and service straight away to a table in the bar. A lot of period features remained and others added to the character of the pub. We arrived at almost 3pm to find we could still order a Sunday lunch. Gammon was the meat of the day. Drinks were swift to arrive and so was our amazing looking Sunday lunch. Gravy, stuffing and carrots were well seasoned with fresh broccoli, peppered roasties, homemade Yorkshire was too crispy , a gravy boat and a generous helping of meat that was not salty. A good size meal that was thoroughly enjoyed. Staff were attentive and friendly. So glad we paid a visit.
