After a very busy day it was a true delight not just to see a beautiful property in an awesome setting but also a very homely welcome by Kay....someone who is warm friendly and has thought of everything.
The rooms are excellent and have everything you need. The bathroom is 5 star.
The place is immaculate and the breakfast sumptuous and Scottish.

The whisky nightcap idea is awesome and very thoughtful.

This is a great place to stay.  Kay made me so welcome to her beautiful house and went over and above in helping me have a great nights sleep and delicious breakfast. 

My room was great,  the bathroom as others have mentioned let me enjoy a relaxing bath after a whole day on a cold Aberdeenshire hilltop working. 

I have stayed in a good number of places and this one stands out as gloriously friendly and comfortable. Well done! 

We were heading to a vintage car rally at Fyvie Castle and as I used to live in Ellon for 13 years, I had a desire to stay in the surrounding area the night before the car rally.
I selected Shallowplough B&B as it was (pet-friendly) & not that far to go to Fyvie.
When we entered the impressive driveway to the property, we did think that the owners may be a bit "upper class" & that we may not be comfortable with them.
How wrong our thoughts were, Kay was an absolute gem and we found her out doing her lovely garden with old clothes on and could not believe how down to earth she was & so so welcoming towards us and our dogs.
Had a lovely big bedroom with a very comfortable bed, no wardrobe though so we just had to hang our clothes at the back of the bedroom door. The room is not ensuite but just along the corridor we had our own very huge bathroom complete with a very large bath & separate shower cubicle. The house was immaculate.
Our friend could not get a room with us but got another B&B just along the road. Kay was so nice & accommodating towards us all & she even allowed our friend to come in and went & made  fresh coffee for her when she cooked our 1st class breakfast in the morning and allowed her to sit with us during breakfast, how truly kind.
Honestly she went above our expectations and we all loved her and will definitely be returning to stay with Kay. A truly welcoming,sincere and hospitable lady and better than any fancy Hotel & very reasonably priced.Thank you Kay.x

Lovely B&B in an old stone barn which has been beautifully converted to a modern home. See the stars at night, wake up to birdsong. Hostess Kay has lots of local knowledge, and cooks a great breakfast. Would definitely come back !

From driving up the tree lined drive, you know you have come to a lovely lovely place! Owner Kay is exceptional in her taking care of you, making you feel as if nothing is too much effort at all.
The Accomodation is very homely, with a comfortable room , not en-suite, but such a glorious shared bathroom it makes up for it!
Gardens are extensive and secluded and give a real feeling of restful nests.
Breakfast was of good quality and tasteful dining room.
Excellent B&B and will look forward to a return stay.
