A lovely nights stay at The Pines. Hosts Lynn & Lee were great. Room was super cosy, super clean and super comfortable! Tasty breakfast too. I was just travelling through Elgin but would be delighted to have an excuse to go back and stay here again. Lee’s recommendation for dinner at The Druthy Cobbler was spot on too. Thank you!

Fantastic Stay at Pine Guest House, Inverness

I recently stayed at the Pine Guest House in Inverness, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! Our host, Angie, was fabulous—warm, welcoming, and attentive from the moment we arrived. The rooms were spacious, airy, and incredibly comfortable, with wonderful grounds that made the stay even more enjoyable.

The breakfasts were a highlight—individually cooked and delicious, perfectly setting us up for the day. The location is ideal, close to downtown Inverness, so we were able to explore the city easily. If you're visiting the Highlands, I highly recommend Pine Guest House. It's a true gem and an experience not to be missed!

Warm welcome from the hosts. Excellent large clean room on the front but quiet and no traffic noise. Great modern bathroom. Good parking. Easy walking distance into town. Great breakfast. Easy excellent hosting. Wonderful base for touring Moray or in way through.

What a wonderful find this was.  Fortunately, they had availbility as we "dropped in" for a night stay.  It is in a wonderful location with private parking and easy to locate.  Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was superb. There is so much to do in this region, it is nice to have this beautiful place to relax.

My second time staying here and is now my go to place in Elgin. Always get a warm friendly welcome on arrival. Wonderful big building and gardens to match. Gated driveway up to the property. 
Even has a guest lounge with a roaring log fire. Fantastic. 
Central enough to be within walking distance of the centre of town. 
Bedroom is full of character and really comfy big bed. Good choice of breakfast in the morning. 
When I consider places like the Premier Inn that I used to stay at there is really no comparison. What a wonderful place.

We visited Elgin in order to run Dramathon and we chose The Pines Guest House for our stay. Our guests Lynne and Lee were so kind and warm and made us feel like we were at home! Sheets and towels smelled really wonderful while we had the chance to experience living in a cosy, well maintained, beautiful Victorian house. We are really looking forward to returning pretty soon!!!

The moment we walked inside the Pines we knew “Everything is Good here: Everything is Right.” We spent a week there, enjoying Elgin, nearby Scottish sights, and the hospitality of the owners.

The Pines had been recently acquired and renovated by the owners. It is immaculately clean and well-appointed.

Guests may choose among many breakfast options. They are all excellent. The portions are generous; on our first morning there I apologized to the owners for over-ordering and eating only about half the plate.

We used the Pines as a central location for day trips and touring. It was in a good location for this. If you want to go to John ‘O’Groats, Stromness, and the northern islands, be prepared for a bit of a drive and perhaps an overnight stay, so we kept our travels a bit closer to Elgin.

What can I say about the owners? In a word, “great.” They were the perfect hosts: friendly but not familiar. We enjoy watching Formula 1 racing. On the day of a Grand Prix, they set up a telly in the sitting room for us and ensured we had tea and snacks. It was perfect.

Would we go back to the Pines? Absolutely! We consider it our home in northeast Scotland.

Absolutely delightful experience all around. Travelling for work and used to basic chains. This was way beyond hopes, so personable and quaint. It was a lovely atmosphere and the owners couldn’t have been more helpful. My train was delayed so I had called about missing check-in and they couldn’t have been kinder. The guesthouse itself was so pretty, clean, warm and all around a great place to spent time in. Cannot recommend enough!

Excellent, quirky guesthouse!

Travelled up to Elgin for the MacMoray fest. Had contacted Lyn before hand to see if an earlier check in would be possible or the option to leave the car would be feasible, which was great our room was ready for us arriving - thank you Lyn :D

Room 5 was lovely, great view over the garden. Room had everything you’d expect in it, including a very comfortable bed! Lovely, powerful shower too. 

Breakfast was delicious, preordered the night before. 

The pines was walking distance to cooper park, where we were headed. Wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.

Great hosts

There are new owners here now, and are very conscientious and eager to learn, the rooms are being refurbished as I write with a modern slant which is a good thing,not that there is anything wrong as it is an old property which has to be taken into consideration. We were in a room facing the side and honestly did not hear any traffic noise whatsoever, in fact it was all just perfect for our stay,plentiful,well cooked breakfast, thanks to Lin and Lee
