Many thanks to Selma & Chris for their hospitality in my time of need, after overexerting myself on the Coast to Coast trail i turned up at their door hoping for a place to stay.

My luck was in and they went above and beyond to make sure i was comfortable.

After a good rest, the breakfast was easily the best i'd had in a long while and i left fully revitalised for the day ahead.

Thank you, without this i wouldn't of completed the trail

Loved the B&B, owners were friendly, rooms clean and it is such a quaint setting. Stone throw away from train station. Food was lovely. Set in a small village so it’s quiet. It is quite hilly so be aware if you have mobility issues.

We were very impressed with our stay.Selma was the PERFECT HOST.The welcome was perfect, when we found it!Good parking on site.The bedroom, although smallish, was very clean & the purpose. The bathroom was great with fantastic shower.All GREAT NO PROBLEMSCREDIT TO ALL

What a lovely place. My wife and I were walking the Coast to Coast and Grosmont House was the perfect last night stop.  

Yards from the C-2-C and just around the corner from the pub.  Selma was warm and welcoming and our room was spotless. 

A special mention for the breakfast - it was fantastic.  All in all, a lovely place to stay.

It took us 2 goes to spot the lane leading up to the property but there was space to park even though a few others were there.The property is beautifully appointed and we were greeted on arrival even though we were before 4pm.Lovely quiet location even though near the rail line with steam trains.Well appointed room and modern shower room. Good choice for breakfast Pity about the foggy weather on the moors but a lovely few days

We really enjoyed our stay at Grosmont house. The owners were very helpful and hospitable. They gave us great recommendations for activities and sights in the area. Room was cozy en clean with a comfy bed and shower. The breakfast was excellent!

Had a two night stay in the single room. The room is best described as petite but was clean and well appointed with a lovely en suite shower and toilet.
I was made very welcome and the breakfast was truly excellent.

I booked this for 3 nights recently to have a base for exploring the area and for accessing the steam train at the Grosmont Station. Room was lovely, breakfast was fantastic, hosts could not do more for us and the location for us was perfectly. Would highly recommend.

Another great stay at Grosmont House. It was really convenient for access to/from Grosmont Station as well as the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The room was clean nicely arranged, it had all the accessories you’d need. The staff, yet again, were fantastic and friendly! The breakfast was brilliant too! We shall be back again!

A lovely stay, with an Amazing breakfast.

Great for a few days exploring moors and Whitby

A great place for relaxing break!

Stayed for 2 nights while experiencing lunch on NYMR train. Welcome from Selma was so lovely. B and B is spotless and very homely. 
We Stayed in the Bridgestones room. It had a Massive king size bed and huge en-suite and double shower. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and amazing with lots of choices. Fresh milk for the room was available in a small fridge for making drinks. Little touches that made all the difference. Three minutes walk if that to Grosmont  train station. 
Plenty of parking spaces and free WiFi. 
Would definitely recommend and will return again for our next train trip. 
Also good location for staying and touring to Whitby or Goatland or Pickering. 

Fantastic bed and breakfast by train line for nymr visits

A unique and magical place to stay which fulfilled all expectations and gave a cracking start to my 70th birthday (December) celebrations. 
Chosen initially due to its track-side location for our NYMR Autumn Outlander steam train ride/silver service lunch, we quickly realised we’d found a rather special gem set in lovely gardens.
Our top-notch, ‘Bridgestones’ super-king room with fabulous en suite shower was just a staircase above the stylish, beamed, dining/ breakfast room where wonderful breakfasts were served at beautifully set tables.

Super 2 night stay

Just had a 2 night stay at Grosmont House B&B for my 60th birthday, Chris & Selma are lovely people & are very welcoming, the place is spotless, our room was the Bridestone what a lovely room with a massive comfortable bed and a fantastic bathroom en suite. The breakfast is all top knotch & the  attention to detail is fantastic, also the lady who Chris & Selma have working for them is very polite & nothing is too much trouble for her, me & my wife really enjoyed our stay at Grosmont House & will return in the future thank you Selma & Chris for making our stay with you special . Absolutely Fantastic B&B 

A return visit but this time to the one-bedroomed apartment. The location is perfect for a get-away in the Yorkshire moors, tucked away in the hillside just up from Grosmont Station.  The hosts are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful and the apartment was cosy, well-furnished and comfortable.  As with the B & B bedrooms, the whole building has character and a peaceful atmosphere.  The apartment was clean and ready on arrival.  There is a small car park for residents and a garden where you can sit and enjoy a summer evening supper or just soaking up the surroundings.  It is worth noting that the apartment can only be accessed via a metal staircase (similar to an emergency exit staircase) and is quite high above ground level for those nervous of heights.  Looking forward to our next stay. :-)

Return Visit - self-catering this time

A nice place in a great location just a 5 minute walk from Grosmont Station. Its not a modern hotel, and rooms are not soundproofed so you can expect to overhear other guests coming and going.  The showers are difficult to set to the right heat and are affected by other people using water. A bit of modernisation would help. Decor in room dated and could do with refreshing but otherwise, a nice friendly place to spend a few nights.

Stayed 2 nights in early July 2023. We were attending an event on NYMR, which is virtually within touching distance of the B&B. Very comfortable room, Very clean. Fresh milk available for in room drinks. Excellent breakfast. Onsite parking is a bonus. We've booked again for another NYMR event in December.
