124 reviewsWe booked the safari suite. We were greeted warmly by the hosts and shown to our room. I gasped with amazement at the decor of all the rooms. The owners had obviously thought very long and hard and worked diligently to find all the appropriate decorations, The fixtures and fittings were of very high quality. We loved the wall tiles in the bathroom and the floor tiles. The owner/host was so friendly and showed us the llamas which I could hand feed. We also witnessed them transferring the emu to greener pastures- which was huge fun! We couldn’t stop taking photos and sharing them with our friends and family and encouraging them to stay here in the future. Yes it is bang on the A66 which is busy but this makes it an ideal spot to stay whilst en route to Scotland. In the evening we just drove to Wetherspoons for a great evening meal and drink. I saw that more as a bonus than a detriment. It was a shame that the cafe and shop weren’t open but I would blame the pandemic not the owners as I had talked to the very nice owner and he explained his predicament. I wish them well in their future ventures as they have shown a great deal of entrepreneurialism. Afterwards I read some of the reviews. It seems to me that some people are never satisfied. If I could give this a 15/10 I would have done.
