Fantastic little place. Room was lovely,cosy and comfortable with all the little added extras! Shampoo conditioner soap tea coffee biscuits and plenty of milk! Parking right outside our lodge. Restaurant is across the little car park, lovely homemade food. Breakfast was amazing too so much choice. Staff were excellent very friendly nothing was too much to ask. HIGHLY RECOMMEND A*****

Highly recommend

Any aspiring hotelier, hotel inspector could learn a lot from this superb inn. Room spacious and comfortable with everything you’d expect plus a nice touch of bottles of water and bag of crisps! Also best shower we’ve found on our trip.
The pub itself is also excellent. Good atmosphere, excellent choice of beer and wine, superb tasty food and very welcoming landlady. This really is what an English pub should be. Sad I could only stay 1 night. 
Wish it was my local. Dunstable villagers very fortunate.

Fabulous stay in our chalet style room, loads of space and super comfortable. Very clean, light and airy. Towels were lovely and smelt fresh. Felt very homely. Had a fish and chip supper in the pub across the courtyard from our room which was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was also served in the pub. A delicious full English breakfast with orange juice, tea and toast. Fantastic host and staff.


Red Lion Dunston, a perfect gem

Clean, comfortable self-contained room opposite the pub. (No 1)  Twin beds and plenty of space. Hangers/storage etc. Separate bathroom with shower. TV. Kettle/coffee. Ideally convenient for the pub. Parking right outside the room too. Friendly landlord & staff. We were having a post-wedding family get-together drinks for circa 35 people in the pub. Aged from 8-70. Looked after impeccably by Megan throughout the day. A total star. Hardworking, efficient, and dealt with all requirements with a smile. A credit to the Red Lion. Friendly locals too. Great day and a very pleasurable stay. Will definitely use again. 

Post-wedding drinks at The Red Lion.

We had a 2 night stay here while we were visiting the area. Booked it fairly last minute and we had a lovely stay. John, the landlord, was so nice from the minute we arrived, and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was lovely-spacious and airy twin room, with tea and coffee making facilities. Nice big shower room with fluffy towels and toiletries. Plenty of space to hang clothes and stash luggage. Very comfortable and warm, no noise from other rooms. Plenty of easily accessible parking. Breakfast was lovely-full cooked breakfast with plenty of tea and toast. Had a couple of drinks both nights-good selection in the bar and John makes you very welcome. It’s the kind of pub you’d want as your local. Village is very pretty and quiet. Good for plane spotters as Waddington and Coningsby are nearby. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again. Thanks, John! 😊

Smashing place to stay!

Stayed at the red lion  20/08/22. Accomadation was of a good  size.  Bed was comfortable and the room very clean.  The host was very welcoming and we had a lovely tasty breakfast . All in all a very pleasant stay!

Great overnight stay

We stayed two nights at Red Lion. Room and beds was clean with Wifi, kettle and a lovely shower. There was no noise from neighbouring room. Our host was very welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough for us.  The full English breakfast was well cooked, tasty and substantial. We would definately stay there again.

John is a fantastic host and very helpful, breakfast was perfect.

Located in a lovely village.

Excellent

Set in a beautiful village the Red Lion has its own large courtyard between the historic  pub itself and the accommodation rooms. Our host went above and beyond to meet our various requests and his friendliness and helpfulness helped to make our stay particularly enjoyable. We thoroughly recommend a visit and we hope to stay there again when we are next in the area.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful location

John & Sam are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble. They are friendly, helpful & attentive. The food was amazing (we had evening meal & full English breakfast). The rooms where cosy & very clean with tea & coffee make facilities in the room, the beds very comfortable, the shower worked well. The grounds & outside seating area where very nice, we was lucky enough to have sunshine during our stay and so enjoyed a few drinks on the seating terrace. Perfect stay! The locals where also very welcoming in the pub. I would recommend the Red lion for a stay, a meal or just call in for a drink or two, John & Sam will certainly make you feel very welcomed. 5* all round
