My daughter and her young family flew into Stansted arriving late. The Stansted Inn was so helpful providing a cot in a family room, a good breakfast and onward provisions. Nothing was too much trouble and my family was made to feel so welcome. It made for a great homecoming after a long flight.

We stayed here for one night before attending a wedding the next day. It was at short notice and we weren't expecting much for the money. How wrong we were - the rooms are spotless, well presented and kitted out with TV, Wi-Fi and all the usual stuff like kettle & hair dryer and the staff are really helpful and friendly.
The downside for the money is sharing the bathrooms - however, we had 2 rooms (1 & 2) so the bathroom opposite us was ours to share alone. The bathroom itself, while looking a little dated (and pink), was fully functional - I would suggest you get the shower running before climbing in as there is nowhere to hide from the initial cold water start-up!
Breakfast is continental and there was plenty of choice, plus tea/coffee/juices etc. and there was a microwave there as well.
To get to the Inn, there is a long, slightly bumpy track off the road - be prepared to stop once or twice to let the rabbits pass (there were a lot of them), also the lane has animals grazing along side it so very picturesque. We were asked to keep the from door closed at night (there is a key code to open it) as they also have the occasional Owl who tries to sneak in - they have pictures to prove it.
The location is basically in line with the Stansted Airport runway so expect aircraft noise throughout the day.

What a great little place to stay. Well signed. Excellent communication for our late arrival. Simple easy parking. 

You’ll hear aircraft overhead at times, but that’s because it’s near the airport. 

Very clean, sunny room. Tasty, self-service breakfast. Within 15 min drive of Stansted airport. 

Very friendly morning receptionist and stress-free, straightforward checkout. 

Will definitely stay again at this quiet, clean, family run, small B & B.

Decided fairly late to say near Stansted before a morning flight and managed to get a room here for £70 B&B. Travelling from the south it was a bit difficult to find and we we went up the wrong lane before being re-directed. It is up a private lane and quite quirky in having what appear to be converted outhouses for bedrooms. The lady who met us at 8.30pm was friendly and helpful and we found our room to be comfortable, clean and quiet apart from the occasional jet overhead. The bathroom was ok but the flooring had lifted in places. The bed was on the firm to hard side and I suspect it might be cold (or too hot) in cold/ hot weather given the large radiator and fan.
We were able to get breakfast at 7.30 and although you help yourself to a continental breakfast (with the addition of an unusual egg boiling machine) they had been very helpful in leaving gluten free bread out for me. I found the owner and staff very helpful and considerate throughout which greatly enhanced the stay. It is about 20 minutes from the airport but certainly makes an unusual and pleasant alternative to the chain hotels.

After what seems like 10 lifetimes living in hotels , good and bad, chain and independent,  you start to crave something different. 

The Stansted Inn is different. It's not perfect ,  but it does provide a much more homely vibe , a beautiful surrounding and a very friendly owner. 

This is the kind if establishment that can become a go-to destination venue for the well travelled , looking for comfort, homely feeling at an excellent price. 

They have brilliant  wifi , a very quiet environment and  nice beds . The grounds will be lovely in the spring and summer and the very fact that you are not part of some money factory makes you feel more human  all round. 

I hope the owner gets the support she deserves, markets the place effectively and makes the  most of a beautiful and homely venue.  

I will definitely stay again .
