Great stay while taking my driving lessons. Was able to be picked up 2 mins away for lessons. Cooked breakfast, friendly staff. Great price for a comfortable stay and has basic amenities. Will be back.

It was a great place to stopover on our way to do the NC500.

Property has been long standing so, well used, but has that beautiful Scottish charm and helpfulness. The owners are wonderful and try hard to realise your every need. Also very cost effective for those that wish a short stay. Great with guidance on where to dine and what will meet your requirements

A nice hotel. Big room and comfortable bed. A good powerful shower. Sadly I didn't get a chance to check out the car and food. Only criticism is the window (Bedroom 1) doesn't close tightly and there is no curtain in that room either. Admittedly it is a small window but still let's a lot of light in, when the outside security light illuminates.

I loked the customer service   the gentleman was clearly serving in the bar area, but took the time to carry my luggage upstairs to my room.The room was pretty basic which is what.id expected for the low price, but the room was clean, well facilitated and the bed was very comfortable. As i was just there for an overnight stay  before an all weekend shift in a care service locally i certainly had no complaints.I would consider staying again Janice

3 night stay for golfing weekend. Clean and comfortable room. Good size for a single room with double bed. Decent bathroom. Hot shower. All the basic amenities you need. Fantastic breakfast. Couldnt eat all mine. Just a heads up to anyone that the bar is open till 3am on weekends and does get loud. Especially at chuck out time when people are gathered outside waiting for taxis

Fantastic hosts

Accessing the hotel defeated my sat-nav (there is only one route in) and the property, once located, lacks kerb appeal. However, the proprietess was very friendly and helpful, the rooms are large and spacious though they would have benefitted from a more efficient heating system. for a pub in a central location, it was surprisingly quiet at night. Breakfast was cooked to order and was plentiful. For the price it is excellent value. A good place for an overnight stay.

Centrally located and very affordable

Easy to find and well situated for visitors to Dumfries, local transport links are also close by. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The breakfast was included in the price and was cooked to order, very tasty. There's a little street noise as you'd expect but the double glazing is great soundproofing.I'd recommend this place and I would definitely stay again.

Great location, value for money, very clean.

A very good stay in the White Hart. Whilst it appears a bit run down our bedroom was large and clean and the enormous bed comfortable. The shower was brilliant and the breakfast excellent. Highly recommended if you’re on a tight budget. Dumfries was very nice to spend an afternoon shopping and looking around. There’s no shortage of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops in this lovely town where you get a friendly Scottish welcome.

The White Hart, Dumfries.

First things first.....it's not the Ritz but for what I paid via Agoda , probably the best value for money I've spent for an overnight stay.I travelled to Bolton to buy a car for my wife and needed an overnight stay before heading home.Reviews I read to be fair were mostly accurate ....in need of a bit of TLC but my room was clean....I had a great and comfortable sleep.....in the morning, breakfast was exceptional...I just wanted somewhere overnight for a rest etc..... thoroughly enjoyed it.... very friendly service and staff.

Absolute value for money

Yes the hotel looks dated and the area is down by the River but the welcome is genuine and the owner and staff are very attentive. The breakfast as others have noted is very very good indeed. The Inn is old and the rooms reflect this but it was warm clean and the bed was super with lovely pillows and a vicious shower!!
I slept so well and was not disturbed by the musician but heard the seagulls.  The pub stays open late but thats fine as it appears quite usual in Dumfries and perhaps Scotland in general. A lovely stay and one i hope to repeat very soon. Thank you to the owner for her welcome. 

A lovely old Inn down by the River Nith

Yes it's a pub, but the price and location are excellent, i stayed Saturday night and had no noise issues except from the seagulls. £2.90 a pint. 5 minutes radius from everything Dumfries has to offer, not a lot! Great service from staff room was clean and towels were good. Some of the other reviews would suggest customers were expecting a regular hotel, but surely the photos say a thousand words. I had work in the morning and was not disturbed by the bar noise. Breakfast was good. Shower was great. I've stayed in less functional Hilton's for 10 times the price. No complaints, would stay again.

Clean and funtional 

I LOVE staying at the White Hart hotel 💯The hospitality is immaculate, and it's in the heart of the TINY & VERY BEAUTIFUL TOWN of Dumfries♥The river is NOT far away from the hotel, it's a little town is VERY rich on history and has MANY BEAUTIFUL places & building'sAnd ALL facilities you need is in near proximity to the hotel, the river is close TOOI can definitely recommend this hotel & the city of Dumfries, to ANYONE would like a calm but nice TOWN & fun STAY in Scotland KariJo
