What a fantastic atmosphere went last night to celebrate my sisters birthday and they had a live singer who was really good. What i really liked was that it was fully of middle age couples and everyone was having fun.
Great place and will be returning to try out food 😀

Great location 

Really pleasant stay, the guys that run this place are working very hard to make it successful.
Bar service very good food excellent. Room very comfortable, nice comfy bed and a good bedding including superb pillows. Would stay again when next in the area.

Swan Hotel Experience

I’ve not visited this bar in a few years but we thought we would see what is was like after being taken over by new owners. Well, we were very pleasantly surprised, Wow!
The new owners have worked wonders.
Beautifully decorated, fantastic service and a wonderful atmosphere. 
Now the Best bar in Downham Market.

A little Gem

Stopped in for Lunch as new people took over. 

WOW What a difference,  came here a few years ago and was ok but now.....food is orgasmic and well presented, new decor is amazing .  new people are friendly and courteous .
Showed me new hotel rooms ...again fantastic decor .
Well worth a visit.

Worth a visit

Seven of us visited on Saturday evening.

Since being under new management it has been fully refurbished to a very high standard and has a wonderful, inviting atmosphere to this historic building. It has definitely shrugged off its old image and the new management have successfully and skilfully transformed this hotel/pub into a real gem in the centre of town.

The food menu provided plenty to choose from and was presented promptly and to a high standard. The food was amazing yet affordable.

The staff are always very welcoming and cannot do enough to please you, and with occasional live music and sumptuous, newly decorated hotel rooms, I cannot recommend it enough for a fabulous stay.

A Stunning Gem in Downham Market

Awesome beers, good pint and chat with Chris behind the bar. Definitely recommend the real ales. Place has been nicely redecorated and is now a nice modern bar. If you are in Downham Market pop in for a drink at some point. Nice cider in the fridge 

Amazing beer 

I came to this pub over Christmas with my teenage sons. Feel of the place was a bit grubby with plenty of swearing amongst a mainly male crowd. General feel was that we were outsiders and that at any stage an arguement could take place. Bar was also very busy.

Might be good for locals but beware if not.

Rough night with locals

Nice little town pub /hotel 
Had entertainment on and a good pint of Guinness. Great Atmosphere and nice friendly locals has a car park to the rear and the Irish landlord Brendon was a nice friendly character 

Good Guinness 

A lovely old building but in need of some TLC.
The bar has a lovely log fire, Sky Sports and serves excellent, well kept beers.
Very friendly bar staff and clean, well kept toilets.
I didn’t see the rooms and so can’t comment on them but good pub.

Stayed here only because the company I work for booked this hotel. It has to be the worst place I have ever stayed in. Where to start, my first impressions were not good, two flights of very steep and narrow staircase, carrying a suitcase is very dangerous, then into the room, twin beded with what I can only say have mattress cover on, that was stained because it had not been changed from my previous colleuge, I am sharing this room with another coleuge, he does day shift I do nights, only one set of keys so I have to disturb him to let me in at 06.30am not nice!!!! The window is broken one day we had a hail storm so had to close the window, now you can't open it. The shared bathroom Dow the corridor is so small, not even hot water for a shave. Shower goes from warm to ice cold. I honestly think even a refugee would refuse this accommodation. The owner I believe is only concerned with the pub downstairs. As I believe he must know all the problems but just dos'nt care. Stay well clear.
