Have nothing bad to say about my stay at Ambers Guest house (although I never actually got to meet Amber)! Only £30 for a night which compared to all the other hotels in Derby was a bargain, especially as I booked it last minute. It might not be located in the nicest location in Derby, but is anywhere!? It’s only a ten minute walk from town and just a bit more to the train station. I was checked in by a lovely man who was extremely friendly and welcoming. The room I stayed in was only a single, but had a TV, sink and towels and toilet roll provided. The toilets and shower were in separate rooms, both very adequate standard. Ambers guest house is certainly not modern in the slightest, so don’t expect the Ritz if you book! But it was exactly what I needed for a short stop over.
