Stopped off on the way to longleat festival of lights.
Sunday roast was amazing !!!!
And the staff were very welcoming it felt like my local as soon as you walked through the door.
Would definitely return again.

We live in Gloucestershire and found the Snooty Fox because my husband does frequent business at Longleat. We only wish it was in our neighborhood because it’s our favorite place for a nice meal in all of Britain and we’ll take any excuse we can get to go down there. We did our company Christmas dinner there last night and were again blown away by the quality, freshness and flavor of everything we had. We brought in people from Bristol and Hertfordshire and they were all happy to make the drive. The proprietress is wonderfully welcoming and the chef is spot on consistent every single time. I’m vegan and they always put together something lovely for me. Last night they did three separate courses for my Christmas dinner including a vegan cheesecake that was incredible. I was so impressed that they did that, as I’m generally used to just never having pudding or getting a simple fruit portion elsewhere. This cheesecake was evidently made from scratch and looked like it was quite labor intensive. Generally speaking, they always have incredible steaks that my husband raves about and fresh from the garden veg— including last nights sprouts, which were done so well, he said. We’ve also been trying to replicate a broccoli with pine nuts side dish that we had there a while back... The bar has a solid selection of wines and specialty beverages. The prices are reasonable, the property is clean and cozy, and we’ll be coming back as much as we can. 

We stayed here for my cousins wedding back in July and it was amazing!  The place has been decorated so well and the staff were so lovely and friendly.  The only problem we had was the key to get into the property... then again we're not the cleverest couple! The food was so good! Would definitely stay here again! Thank you x

We stayed here for the night after Longleat. It is now a bed & buffet breakfast not a pub, but we knew this. Entrance is up some stairs at back from car park. We had a quiet room at the back, room was nice enough but bed & pillows were hard. Breakfast was left on a table outside the room to help yourself and have in room. It was a 15 minute walk into town for a pub or restaurant in the evening.

The owners made us feel very welcome throughout our stay.  We had room 2 which was beautifully decorated and furnished.  The bed was very comfortable, resulting in an excellent night's sleep.  There were facilities for making tea and coffee.  There were pots of coffee rather than sachets, one being decaffeinated.  A nice touch was a flask of milk and some very nice biscuits which were topped up for our second night's stay.  There were plenty of hangers in a very large built in wardrobe.
The bathroom was of a high standard and the shower worked well and was easily adjustable.  Everything looked very new.  There were some complimentary toiletries, which again was a nice touch.

Having had a lovely breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast, the evening meal was somewhat of a letdown.  For a starter we had a shared garlic bread with a green topping which turned out to be parsley and garlic.  Unfortunately it was quite soggy and didn't taste great.
My partner had aubergine parmesan which she really enjoyed.  The lasagne I ordered had an unpleasant taste of overcooked tomatoes and the bechamel sauce on top had dried out.  
For dessert we had three scoops of ice cream which turned up in a breakfast bowl with large dessert spoons.  It was nice quality ice cream but deserved better presentation.

I would recommend the Snooty Fox as a place to stay because the room was outstanding.  As far as the restaurant is concerned the waiting staff were superb and attentive but for me the quality of food and presentation was hit and miss.

A good one night stay

An absolute gem 

Amazing place to stay and eat!!

Great accommodation but some reservation regarding the restaurant

Well decorated bedroom with modern furnishings. Modern, bright bathroom with good towels and good shower.
Both rooms very clean.

Sorry but this is NOT a hotel as categorised on TripAdvisor, it is a B&B at best. We arrived at pre-arranged time to find it empty with 'no longer open' signs on the front door (quite a shock) and nobody to greet us. Waited 45 minutes in our car weighing up our options when owners arrived. It seems we were meant to guess the keys in a plastic box outside the front door were for us. Not much of a welcome and not very safe. Seems the owners had emailed to say let yourselves in but we have no access to emails away from home. Anyway, accomodation via the garden. This was three quarters building site (literally diggers and barriers etc) and one quarter scruffy, run-down 'garden'. Up a flight of narrow, outdoor metal steps. Good mobility therefore essential.
Bedroom: NO wardrobe - one plastic hanger on back of room door, frosted window 
Bathroom: clear window not frosted!? Had to use facillities with blinds closed as bathroom was overlooked by houses and workmen!
Continental Breakfast: Left on a table in the hallway and you eat it in your room. That is all very well but our room had one chair and no table so one of us had to sit on the bed to eat! Choice of 3 cereals, juice, yoghurt, bananas and strawberries and one croissant per person. Make your own tea and coffee in the room. Whole experience was pitiful.
We had to pay immediately. Never done that in a hotel before. Didn't see anything of the owners again. No reception desk, nobody to check that you had all you needed etc. 
The Snooty Fox needs to update it's own personal website which still shows photos of a beautiful garden, pub, meals etc. A tiny sentence saying now closed is not enough. TripAdvisor still shows photos of restaurant meals and states amenities as bar/lounge and resturant. Very poor (disingenuous even?) and unhelpful marketing.

Room was nicely decorated and comfortable although we were expecting it to be attached to the pub. On arrival we were told the pub closed earlier this year and food was not available, also it was a help yourself breakfast, cereal croissant yoghurt and bananas.
