Lovely people, very welcoming. Met Harry (the most obedient Labrador in the world) some really friendly locals who were genuinely interested in our visit and great bar staff. Couldn’t fault the drinks or prices. Overall a great evening. We’ll certainly be back next time we’re close.

Great reception. Nothing was to much to ask. Very clean room. Doggie friendly. Free parking (a bonus). No breakfast option but no problem. Very central for evening meals. Would stay again. Great location for exploring the cotswold water parks.

Booked for one night as first stop on Thames path walk. Centre of town, easy access to Tesco’s for breakfast and Thai meal in the eve. Good value for money, stayed in one of the annex rooms and no issue with noise. Didn’t need anything flashy, just a decent shower and a comfortable bed, both of which we got. Dropbox key on departure, so all very straightforward. Can’t complain!

Stayed as part of a Thames Path hike. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable, and was in an annexe away from the main pub building. The landlord was welcoming and friendly, and the room was very reasonably priced. Supermarket opposite for anything you need. Recommended.

4 of us had a long weekend in Cricklade and after a bad meal at the Hotel decided to chance the local pub. 
Food was superb. Excellent service,  Friendly polite and helpful.
Overall a really really good dining out experience

We were pleased we hadn’t read old reviews or we could have missed out. Our twin room was a good size and had everything we needed.  The beds were so comfortable i actually wish we hadn’t had such an early start and could have stayed longer. The bed linen and towels smelt lovely and fresh. The shower was amazing; hot and powerful.  Car parking is very convenient at the back of the hotel,so not far to take your luggage.  It was lovely to have this little visitor both mornings(see pic). We would definitely stay here again.  

Great weekend., The owners made us feel very welcome, very friendly and helpful. We had two rooms in the converted barn outside the bar, it was perfect. Rooms extremely clean, comfy beds and a great powerful shower. Breakfast was very tasty, presented well and plenty of it. It was like home from home. Highly recommend it for a relaxing break away in the Cotswolds. Cricklade is a lovely town with lovely people.

Great pub and beer garden (although no food,  but The Cold Harbour pub 7 mins away is amazing). Great free car park at the rear. Room was clean and a great size, lovely white fluffy towels in the bathroom. Staff really friendly and welcoming. Room had a separate entrance to the main pub which was nice

Great room, great location, good value, clean room, private car park. Pub slightly dated but overall would definitely stay again. Nice friendly locals and staff. Cricklade has a beautiful High Street, would definitely recommend a visit!

We booked the triple room room which had lots of floorspace and was very roomy indeed. Excellent shower and nice toiletries. Big mugs for making tea, and some tasty biscuits. Lovely linen and comfy beds made for a good night's sleep - just wished I had noticed the black-out blind in time to use it! Shame there was no breakfast but Tesco is over the road so you can get your continental breakfast from there so it was no big deal. Staff (and the locals in the pub below) were friendy.

Walking with friends

Last minute decision to stop somewhere else on way home, decided on Cricklade & picked The Old Bear ( due to free onsite parking ) nice pleasant twin room ( slightly on the small side ) in courtyard with nice comfy beds & which looked like new towels, shower was great, didn’t actually drink in the pub so can’t comment on the pub itself. Would imagine if you wanted to get to sleep early on busy weekend nights the beer garden ( right outside your window ) might be noisy? 
Only one issue for me really was the tile above the sink, why not centre it or cut it to size 🤣🤣

We weren’t sure what to expect when we arrived in lovely Cricklade but the twin room in the courtyard was just what we needed. It was very fresh and clean with comfortable beds. The shower was great - lovely hot water and very powerful. There was tea and coffee and biscuits. The only thing missing was WiFi but this was available in the pub itself. Good value and great for an overnight stay on our walk. There was no breakfast but there are plenty of places down the high street.
