The Bull Inn Lodges

Plenty of car parking, Good comms for access to building,  Nice and warm temp, good size room in number one. Clean, plenty of storage, No internet. not a problem, Cold breakfast in the room which was fine, shower easy to understand, nice towels, good lighting, would come back again. Close to pub for ev meal and drinks. Taxi ride to Chapel Down. 

Hard to find a fault - one mirror bulb was out…..but that’s it!  Super, super clean, traditional but modern room with an overhead fan for hot weather!   Really lovely cleaner lady too!  We had a king size bed which is necessary for us tall people!   Easy parking right in front of the lodge with the added bonus of being close to a pub.  I have to say also that the dinner we had at the pub was really excellent - big portions!  My poached salmon was like two of the usual  size and lots of broccoli stems…..mmmmm!  I really recommend both lodges and pub!  x

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst wife was in. Beneden hospital. Excellent accomodations. It is one large room (king-size bed), with separate sofa and writing table chair. There is an ensuite bathroom. Fridge is provided with Croissants, cereals, yoghurt, jams, butter and cheese / ha. All topped up each day. Room is serviced daily. There is a TV for watching from bed / sofa area. It is a very quiet area and I slept very well. There is a small village shop about 150 yards away on high street. Keypad door to access to room and code was sent by text on the day of arrival. Staff friendly and very helpful.
Pub is about 30 yards away and they do excellent food / drink.
Will definitely return as loads to do in the area. Hemsted Forest only a few minutes away, Bodiam Castle and Steam Railway about 15-20 mins away. Several other National Trust places and RSPB Reserves within 30 - 40 mins.

Lovely location, the lodges themselves was perfect, very spacious and welcoming the moment you walk through the door. Easy check in, kitted out with everything you need, even down to a continental breakfast waiting for you and tea and coffee facilities. The bed is 5 star 🌟 I wanted to take it home with me it was that comfortable.. The lodges are to a very high standard and we will definitely stay again.


Stayed here recently as we had a wedding close by. We will definitely stay here again it’s an ideal base for exploring this beautiful part of Kent. We were really impressed with the quality of our lodge. It was spacious, spotlessly clean & decorated in a restful & stylish palette.

Perfect!  Clean and comfy and perfect to come back to after a long day.  The continental breakfast was a nice touch.  Although all the lodges were occupied you couldn't here a thing.  Karen couldn't have been more helpful.   Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect clean comfy we can here for one night but next time will book for more. Perfect hide away we were a family of 7 and hire 2 rooms very nice and clean even the mini fridge with breakfasts made it for us the next day with 3 kids very handily also not bring towel and  toiletries was handily too.

Stayed two nights here while exploring Kent National Trust properties and Rye town. Beautifully appointed with double bed and sofa, and clean and bright bathroom with shower.  Breakfast provided and small fridge was very handy for chilling wine and keeping milk cold.  Several local pubs nearby including The Bull Inn next door. Quiet location ideal for our purpose. Great find and will definitely return if we visit this part of the country again.

Booked a lodge for a bit of post operative recovery.
Just what I needed, clean, comfortable and quiet.
The room and bathroom are well appointed.
The breakfast goodies were much appreciated and very tasty.
Would definitely recommend and will stay again.

We were gifted a wine experience at Chapel Down vineyard so staying overnight at the lodge was ideal. We should have been texted a key code by 3pm on the arrival day but this didn't happen and we had to ask in the pub. The accommodation is clean and basic and is fine for a day or two. A cold continental breakfast is provided croissants,  yoghurts, cereal, milk, butter and jam. A cooked breakfast is available in the pub. We also had an evening meal - macaroni cheese and a cheeseburger. Both were substantial and tasty. The room was £87 so value for money.

Had booked the hotel as had been gifted a wine tasting at Chapel Down. 

Accommodation was really lovely, big rooms that appear to have been recently renovated with everything you need for a great nights sleep. Super easy check in process too.

- Taxis are a little on the pricey side at £20 each way to the Chapel Down vineyard - make sure you book in advance
- Check directly with the local pubs to see if they are open (don't rely on website opening times!) if you're hoping to eat in the village

Well appointed, comfortable accommodation

We booked Bull inn Lodges for our trip to Chapel Down.    The rooms with en-suite are very clean.   Furnishing is simple but perfectly fine for one night.   The bed was very comfortable.   I wasn’t a massive fan of the continental breakfast provided, but the fresh milk for tea was greatly appreciated.

If you’re looking for a clean simple room for an overnight stay this is perfect.  

Cooked breakfast can be found at the Swan Inn nearby but only on Saturday and Sunday.    It’s a shame that there isn’t more collaboration between the Bull Inn pub next door.

I was surprised that the lodges didn’t offer Wi-fi.

Finally if you have planned your trip around an event and need a taxi, book it well ahead.   We were going to Chapel Down and struggled to get a cab.   Thankfully Direct Cabs were a available.

Convenient for visiting Chapel Down 

We stayed three nights at Bull Inn lodges whilst working locally . We had passed by for several years and not booked here , but this year we did and we were not disappointed. The room is a good size , SO clean , lovely clean bathroom and fresh towels . Nice continental breakfast left daily in the small fridge . The pub ( Bull Inn - see separate post ) is a great door step evening option for a drink and food . We will definitely stay again , most impressive x
