Just enjoyed a lovely week stay in Sycamore Lodge.
Great facilities within the Lodge that made it a home from home including a recently installed shower.
Hosts are lovely, welcoming and friendly. Each time we spoke they asked if there were any issues. The only issue we had was with regards to the WiFi, we did have 8 devices, and they were able to boost it.
Lovely quiet location with woodland to the rear that my children loved to go play in.
We enjoyed being able to sit and have a cuppa out the front and to watch the squirrels running around without a care.
Local amenities are within a short car ride and within lovely surroundings.

Would definitely recommend a stay here and fully intend on staying again in the future.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in Oak Lodge. We had previously had a week's holiday here (October 2022), so it had the advantage of familiarity, as well as being a convenient place to stay, within easy reach of family who live near Calne.  We had a very enjoyable pre-Christmas weekend with our family, but were grateful to have a place of our own to spend nights.  Oak Lodge was warm and comfortable, and Jonathon and Lesley are welcoming and friendly hosts.

Absolutely 5 star for everyone. 
Stayed a couple of nights in a lodge.  2 bedrooms, full kitchen and living room.  Patio out front.  Breakfast was on a B and B basis and was quality.

Beautiful location, very relaxing with balcony overlooking the fields. Very friendly welcome and flexible over arrival and breakfast time. Very large and comfortable room with bath and shower. Ideal for couples, business stopover and for relaxed getaway. Highly recommend.

Lovely place. Friendly host.. or in the glorious countryside.. what more can I say? Comfortable, great shower and all the extras like shower gel shampoo and tea / coffee / hot chocolate… couldn’t be better.. woke up fresh and had a delightful walk to start the day..

If you want to spend time in a relaxed atmosphere with great service then I highly recommend Wayside. We finally found somewhere to stay with our dog that understands we still want comfort and cleanliness. The relaxed atmosphere made our time here lovely and as they own a friendly Labrador our dog relaxed and that was a godsend.  No one is going to hover over you, you get on and do your own thing but if you need anything then you only have to ask. The owners are very knowledgeable about the area and can help you make the most of your stay. The lodge was well appointed and quiet. I will definitely revisit in the future. 

Great large room with unexpected facilities including fridge, microwave and balcony.
Host's we're even kind enough to offer us a lift to the nearby  wedding venue. Breakfast was a very hearty and tasty for me as a meat eater and my wife as a vegetarian which she was especially happy with. A wonderful country setting with easy access to many nearby areas of site interest and activities. Thanks so much for our lovely stay and for filling my wife's unusual request for very well done eggs, they were perfect.

We have returned from a week at this fantastic property.  Our 3 boys had a brilliant  time due to the private woodlands behind the lodge.
The lodge had everything we needed, was clean and had absolutely superb views.
The owners were very friendly and after ensuring we were settled in, let us get on with our stay. 
We would return again and happily recommend  this amazing lodge to anyone.

Lovely refurbished new B&B bedroom with ensuite upstairs! Owners made us feel at home instantly with gorgeous surrounding countryside and the private woodland we walked our dog through! There is so many activities available in all directions 30 minutes tops! Would 100% recommend and visit again, thanks!

An overall great stay. A brilliant nights sleep and the room were lovely and clean and the owners were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to any friends or family. A well deserved 5 stars

Nice relaxing countryside lodge

Welcoming, warm, comfortable, and a convenient base for visiting family for a pre-Christmas  get-together.

Great little retreat, excellent service and comfortable and spotlessly clean while being dog friendly!

We occupied the family room over night when at my sons wedding nearby in Lacock.
The owners are very accommodating and went out of their way to drive us back to our car the following morning without any additional charge. The full English breakfast was very good and the room was comfortable & clean with an extra bed added at the last minute for my son.

Great Stay

We stayed in Oak Lodge for 7 nights as a family with an elderly dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Oak lodge was the perfect base for days out in Bath, Bathampton, Lacock and several stunning walks nearby. The place is surrounded by beautiful countryside and the 12 acres of woodland behind the lodges are perfect if you have a more active dog. The view from the lodge is lovely. There is parking for around two cars per lodge. 

The lodge itself is quite basic but comfortable, homely and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The living/kitchen/dining area is open plan and perfect for socialising. The sofas are very comfortable and we enjoyed our evenings. The only improvements could be to upgrade the mattress in one of the double bedrooms and the tap valve in the shower. 

Hosts Jonathon and Lesley are very friendly and we were greeted with a warm welcome. We felt very at home at Wayside and would love to come back again in the future!

Relaxing self catering holiday in the countryside

We all throughoughly enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and relaxed and Oak lodge was very comfortable. Free WiFi access to keep my teenagers happy too. The owner made us feel very welcome on arrival, and was very pleasant to talk to at any other time. A great spot to unwind and explore, and close to Devizes, Melksham and Chippenham, and even Bath is just over 30 minutes away. Would stay again.
The only negative is that the internal doors to the bedrooms had warped slightly and were difficult, but not impossible, to close.

Weekend getaway

Go away every May Bank Holiday with best friend and her mum.  We try to find different places to go but, somehow get drawn back here. We've stayed in the lodges 3 times now - twice in Sycamore and this year in Oak.  The lodges are always clean and cosy.  The surroundings are so relaxing and beautiful.  The horses are gorgeous, plus they had a 5 day old foal this year, what an absolute stunner.  Watching her find her legs was like a 'Bambi' moment, so funny, but when she did, and to see her and mum running around together was a magical sight.  They also have sheep and chickens (fresh eggs, yummy!) Then there are the woods which, when we go are usually full of bluebells and wood anemone - beautiful.  Waking to the sounds of the birds singing and watching the bats at night, stunning countryside - what else do you need?  Jonathan and Lesley are such lovely people and make you feel so welcome.  So much so, that we've already booked for next year, only this time we are going for a whole week - and we are so looking forward to it!
