From walking in on our first night in corbridge was welcomed by lovely polite staff the pub really nice and clean  and nice decor came in a couple more times then decided to book a table for our last night in corbridge glad we did food was excellent staff excellent so when where back at Easter will definitely book a table 

We booked a table for lunch with friends after a post Christmas Walk up to Aydon Castle. We walked more quickly than we thought, and rang the Golden Lion to ask if it was possible to arrive earlier...nothing was a problem. Lovely atmosphere. All staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our 'gluten free' friend was well looked after (including a gluten free mince pie with her mulled vine). Food was delicious. Would highly recommend.

As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed and made to feel at home. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean and we had a lovely stay. The pub has a lovley atmosphere and if we weren't off to a wedding I could have gladly sat there all day. I'd certainly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the area. 

Stayed just the one night and for dinner. The landlord and wider staff / family were most hospitable. The room was bright and roomy with a comfortable bed and large fluffy towel. The shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast was tasty and flavours of the north , curly sausage , black pudding, the works. Dinner was so nice the beef mash and gravy so good. I went for cray fish cocktail which again was well presented and seasoned well. I’ll definitely be staying again and for our guys on business in the area they will be staying there every time.

What can i say ! We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Golden Lion. As soon as we walked through the door , we felt welcomed. The food was brilliant , rooms clean and nothing was too much trouble. The landlord has a brilliant sense of humour. We only stayed for two nights but felt like part of the family when we left. We will definitely return.  
Corbridge is a lovely place to stay .

Absolutely fantastic food!  We stopped here for some warm brandy’s as it was so cold and we were really glad that we had made that choice as we decided to eat here.  The food here is of good quality, very tasty and well presented. The pub itself is extremely clean and spotless, it is beautifully decorated too. The staff are welcoming and friendly.  Our bill was very reasonable for what we had, two mains and desserts plus drinks was only £51!  The food was plentiful as well. Would I go back…..100%yes!

This pub has recently been refurbished and is run by a local couple and very pleasant staff. We visited just for a pint and to ask if/when they might be doing accommodation  as Corbridge does seem to lack good rooms other than holiday properties.  Hurrah - they are going to be opening up the new rooms asap - just waiting for things to be rubber-stamped.  Hope anyone who has read previous reviews about this pub and rooms will read this as I think it was a bit run down before.  We will book up for a stay as soon as rooms become available.  The beer was good and food looked very good.  Most people don't want a large menu to choose from - we certainly prefer smaller selection of things done well.

Spent one of our regular weeks in Corbridge recently. Visited this very friendly and welcomingestablishment 3 times. Midweek dinner ,midweek lunch and Sunday lunch all excellent. Its a family business and this shines through rather than some chains with their tired business model. Food is great smallish menu freshly cooked. Roast beef and steaks a stand out for me but all good. Pies got a good mention as well! Small wine list but very reasonably priced. Good atmosphere and relaxed feel. Looking forward to the summer visit beer garden and more enjoyment best establishment of its type in the Village give it a try!

Valentines night. This was the first meal in the Golden Lion this year and was every bit if not better than last time (Dec 23). As always there was a friendly welcome from the front of house staff, the menu covers all tastes, service and food were first class. Well done to Adrian and team.

Have visited on a number of times for drinks and family dining. Lovely steaks, vegan and vegetarian options. 
Staff always pleasant and attentive, with great knowledge and advice on drinks and food options
Consistently delicious food at affordable prices , lovely atmosphere and warm welcoming service.

Great service, food and welcoming atmosphere

I stayed at the golden lion during my c2c bike ride and it was a fantastic stay. I was welcomed late afternoon by a lad who couldn’t do enough for me even though I was soaked to the skin after a days cycling in the rain. I had a lovely double room with an en suite bathroom and although I didn’t eat in the pub I did have a drink and it’s a lovely bar. Breakfasts was excellent too. Very good value overall and would highly recommend
