Stayed in the tilberthwaite suite for my wifes birthday, lovely suite, plenty room, great bathroom, very comfy bed, very well maintained and super clean.
Breakfasts were excellent and owners really looked after us.
would highly recommend staying here.

The room was small but we expected that and it was clearly explained, it had everything we needed and was actually perfectly sized. 

We have stayed in rooms twice the size but no where near as nice or clean, would definitely stay again.

The breakfast was lovely I had pancakes and my wife had full English.

This was a great start to our trip up to Scotland.

I spent last week staying at Lakeland House and as always the stay was fantastic. Perfect hosts, great breakfast before heading out on a days walk. The room was clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable.

A warm welcome from all Staff even though we arrived earlier than check in times. Room was impeccable and comfortable with plenty of breakfasts choices. Great location and quick access to loads of historic sites.

Stopped here for 3 nights in January. Its right in the heart of Coniston making everything nearby easily accessible.

Room was great with a free upgrade when we arrived, clean, tidy and well kept. Breakfast was spot on with a great choice of options and freshly made. Toast, juice , tea and coffee all provided with whatever you chose. Friendly staff, really cant find fault. 5 stars any day.

We had a very good three night stay at Lakeland House.  Our room was very clean, comfortable and well maintained.  Check-in is hassle-free, and the Owners made us feel welcome.  Breakfast is ordered in advance, with plenty of choice and they were able to meet my dietary requirements.  The B&B is in a great location for walking and evening meals at pub (choice of 4+)

Yet another fantastic stay at Lakeland House. Sue and Michael were superb hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic breakfast before heading out for a day's walking in the Fells and came back to a clean and warm room. I was booked for what should've been 4 nights but had to leave a day earlier due to unforseen circumstances and Sue offered me a credit for the night I missed, what more can I say.
Will be back again hopefully before the end of the year.

I’ve just come back from organising a tour for nearly 60 people walking out of Coniston and worked with most of the local pubs and B&Bs. Sue and her team went out of their way to meet my challenging requests and regular moving of goalposts helping to make the trip a huge success. My room itself was fantastic, cooked breakfasts superb and myself and others felt well looked after.

Just back from a fantastic walking trip to Coniston. Thanks for looking after us so well. Lovely breakfasts and excellent accommodation. Wifi was good so the set up for working was ideal too. Fabulous

This hotel is outstanding  it is located quite central to all amenities. The rooms were very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The 2 young members of staff that served us breakfast were polite and friendly oh and the breakfast was good to .

Brilliant Stay

Just got back from a 2 night stay at lakeland house, we decided to book a last minute stay with the kids over New year, everything about the stay was great, room was clean and spacious, breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice which is always good with kids, it was quiet even though the B&B is by a road we didn't hear much traffic, the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble, couldnt recommend enough and we would definitely stay there again

Superb Lakeland hospitality 

Good functional B and B with smart decor and simple check in and departure. Slightly transactional rather than welcoming hence the 4 star but everything you need in room. Wifi a little weak and odd dark time mirror in bathroom but everything else excellent. Breakfast well organised in Covid regs with times meals and good cooked portions.

Good B and B in centre of village

Lakeland house is a really lovely place to stay. It’s very clean, the food is lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful. They will accommodate to your every need. Also it is COVID safe. We have been staying here now for several years at various times of the year. Always a lovely warm welcome and a very pleasant stay. Nothing too much trouble. Sue and the staff are like family to us. Excellent service all round.

Holiday and event vacation

We stayed in Room no.2, a twin room, with views over the village. Space was quite tight, however that’s probably more to do with us and the obscene amount of luggage we took. Lovely room, very bright and airy with high ceilings and decent windows. Seemed perfectly clean and the beds were very comfortable. The lack of sockets in the room deemed a problem, as we required two outlets each. Two sockets throughout the room seemed a small amount.

The bathroom was very modern, with a shower you could fit four people in, let alone one. Our only concern, which became problematic after a swim in the nearby lake, was ventilation. Trying to dry clothes was practically impossible and they were left damp even after 30+ hours. A window in a bathroom is a necessity, however we appreciate, as a private B&B, this may not be possible.

Great location! Less than 10 minute walk to the lake, close to convenience stores, and set in a picturesque village, with views of the mountain range, this really is an amazing holiday destination for hikers, swimmers and adventure-seekers. 

The food offered was divine. Proper American pancakes, with streaky bacon and maple syrup - this is the breakfast of kings. Not a single fault with the staff or the pleasant eating area. Yet, with COVID measures set in place, breakfast had to be requested on a chalkboard. This wasn’t a big issue, though I would recommend new chalk is provided so as the order would be more easily written and understood. 

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lakeland House and we hope to be back again.

Lovely stay, great location.

I loved this trip. It was my first time to the Lakes and I can't wait to go back. I thought the B&B actually looked nicer in real life than in the photos. It is in such a great spot too, our room had amazing views of the mountains. 

Lovely breakfast which you pre order on the chalk board the night before. Then the food is ready when you are for your allocated time slot. You have a half hour time slot for breakfast. 

If you prefer personal service then it isn't for you as you aren't greeted on arrival. Instructions are written down on entrance to the B&B. I'm not sure if this is to do with Covid restrictions or general practice.

One thing I wanted was a Yorkshire tea which they didn't have but that's me being picky. I just enjoyed one when I got home! 

Excellent location - close to a co-op, pubs, fish and chip shop and a short walk to Coniston Lake. 

Our room was amazing and had a very comfy bed. The downside of having a room at the front though is the traffic noise as the B&B is on the main road through Coniston.
