The receptionist  and the crew were welcoming. The bed the room was so clean . The attendants were so friendly and served in time. The trainers at the gym were so supportive. The conference room was well equipped. I was served nice meal by Ms Fortunate, an ever smiling lady😊

Lovely hotel  fantastic room non sea view friendly staff,great entertainment lovely breakfast only one thing we didn’t have evening meal as no chef but plenty of places to eat in town i would definitely go to Clarence House hotel again   We thoroughly  enjoyed our stay


The reception from the gate was good,at the reception too.The food was excellent.
Heated pool was the best place to be,having much help from Coaches Milly and Felix who showed their prowess in coaching my children the best way.The babies are looking forward to another lesson with them.coming back more often.Thanks Clarence house

We stayed as part of a band visit, had a lovely room, clean and comfy en-suite.  Gorgeous sea view and balcony. Big traditional breakfast included, could tell the dining room staff were new and nervous but that was fine.

This hotel is very close to the beach with a road to cross and then some steps down.

Staff were great and had a lovely stay. The bar was great value and look forward to visiting again, hopefully soon.

Sorry didn't stop here but looks ok on inside,  it's the beer garden on the other side of road facing sea . The views are superb on a nice day like this are beyond words,theres a court yard one in the hotel which is nice too with palm trees which we've been in too and was nice, but the front one on a day like today is beyond compare 

We, i.e. two senior citizens, stayed at the Clarence on a Blake's Turkey and Tinsel weekend coach holiday. The friendliness and efficiency of the staff was absolutely first class. The dining room was somewhat cramped, which was more of an issue for the waiting staff than the diners. The food was very good and more than sufficient and also served very quickly given the number of diners. The bar area was very spacious and the hotel was imbued with character. We were fortunate to be allocated a large room with a balcony (No. 121). There was plenty of tea, coffee and milk provided. The room and bathroom were very, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom facilities might be too cramped for a larger person, say over 6ft 6in, but were fine for us. Being able to just walk out of the hotel and be on the beach front, or less than 5 minutes from the main shopping area in Tenby was really good.

I travel to Tenby quite often to see friends and family, I think this must be the best bar with a large beer garden and a terrace overlooking the bay at the front. The drinks are cheap and the staff friendly. Look forward to coming again.

Our 2nd time staying at this hotel. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are clean and the beds are extremely comfortable.
A very sociable hotel with good entertainment and the best barman in Tenby. Will definitely be back . 

The beer garden is a hidden gem of tenby with drinks that are a great price, lots of sunshine and some undercover seating. 

I spent most of the weekend in it with my partner and had a fantastic time. Given it was a sunny bank holiday the service was incredible and the staff were really efficient.

This is a really friendly hotel. staff, Bedroom, and entertainment all very good.
Nothing was too much trouble. 
The hotel was very clean and our bedroom, nice and warm. We had a lovely seaview.
Hubert who has worked for the hotel for more than fifty years was very kind and kept everyone entertained with his knowledge of the area and worked hard.
Would certainly stay at the Clarence Hotel again.

A wonderful experience 

Excellent pool service 

I went on a coach tour and from arriving to leaving the stay was lovely. It’s not a five star hotel and doesn’t claim to be it is a grade 2 listed building so there is only so much that can be done to it. Our room was clean the bathroom was quite adequate a little small especially the shower which could do with a bit of a upgrade.
The food was good especially as there was I think three coaches.
The best part of our stay was the delightful Hubert he is a unique gentleman who has been with the company 50yrs. An amazing tour guide and a delight to be with, full of information and very kind. He is definitely an asset to the hotel. The rest of staff were friendly and helpful.

Holiday in tenby august 2023

Lovely sea view room with enormous comfy bed

close to the beach

Recently returned from 4 night stay with GB Tours.  There were 2 further coach parties staying here, and I would estimate the guest average age c70. I believe the rooms varied greatly from room to room. My review relates to the single room 117.

Pros:
Great location on the sea front overlooking south beach. A few minutes walk to the town centre. The staff were excellent. Hotel exceptionally clean. Plenty of hot water, good sized bathroom, & good water pressure in the shower. All meals were waiter service. Standard breakfast offering - cereal, fruit juice, full breakfast, toast etc. Entertainment each evening, whilst of a similar genre, all the singers were good, albeit a little dated. Drink priced very reasonably.

Cons:
A little dated & in need of some TLC . My room was exceptionally small - bed, single wardrobe, desk (reminded me of student accommodation). It was located just above the kitchen/ bar area, and there was a very large flue outlet just below the window that came on about 5.30 am every day. couple with a lot of banging in the kitchen. I would recommend bringing earplugs. Shower cubicle very small, as was the bath towel (barely covered my modesty!) The biggest problem was the dining room. They had approx 120 guest staying & we were packed in like sardines. Staff couldn't get between the tables to serve you, so dishes were passed along the table. I'm not sure how we could have evacuated the room in case of an emergency.  The food was very traditional & not particularly to my taste,  and certainly not home cooked.  The noise level in was unbearable.

my wife and i stayed here for a turkey and tinsel ,november 2022 on a dunwood coach holiday.
the room was rather small, just about room to get in really.
you could not watch tv, the picture kept breaking up, although as i said on another review who wants to watch tv when on holiday. i think they did fix it towards the end of week.

the food was nice and we had excellent service in the restaurant, nothing was too much trouble the waiting staff.

there was a happy hour advertised for the bar, which amounted to £1 pound off a pint of beer.(gee whizz, how exciting).

the worst part of this stay was the entertainment.(what there was of it).
there was no singer on the monday night, instead we had a couple of games of bingo, which i don,t mind, but that was all.
the singer on tuesday was ok ,middle of the road, sang a lot of bob,bing and frank,you know what i mean.
wednesday night the singer was not too good, the songs he sang were so slow and he would stop after every song and try to find the next song. meanwhile the people who got up to dance, would be left standing there like lemons waiting hear what next, every song which was requested he could (or would not) do.
because this was a turkey and tinsel, this day was treated as new years eve, so the singer said to us at about 20 past ten, "you don,t want to play auld lang syne do you" yes we said, so straight away he started playing auld lang syne. did,nt ask us to stand up and get ready or nothing, just played it and then half past ten, finished.
this was supposed to be new years eve, it could of gone on till eleven surely.
the singer on the thursday night was fantastic, he,s the best self contained singer i ever heard, he sang some requests, but if he did,nt know the song he played on his phone.

the coach company took us on two excursions, but been winter we would get back to the hotel at about two. there was nothing happening at the hotel what so ever.
this is supposed to christmas, where,s the party games, a quiz maybe or even a few games of bingo.
on the whole i would recommend this hotel, but in the summer when the weathers better. not for turkey and tinsel .there is a lovely beach right by the hotel and the town is worth a walk down to.

more entertainment needed

The hotel is situated in a terrific spot… On walking to the hotel it looks bright and welcoming which is what you get to a certain point. When entering the ‘reception’ if you call it that, the guys were friendly and efficient at checking me in. However, their surroundings let them down. The reception room is cluttered and messy with delivery boxes, junk in front of the windows and a coat stand that looks entirely awful. First impressions goes a long way. 
After given the key to my room I headed up to my single room on the 4th floor. Cosy and small is one word for the room which could do with some modernisation. You have to stand on a chair to look out of the window. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar was plentiful. The cleanliness of the room was second to none, with crisp clean white linen and fresh fluffy towels which were changed daily. The bathroom was cramped but had all that you need, with plenty of hot water most of the time. 
The bar staff seemed a little miserable and unwelcoming at times. Terrific gardens in the back and especially the front garden over looking the sea with its own little separate bar. Wide variety of choice behind the inside bar which is well needed with the amount of custom they serve each day.  
I ate out at meal times as I’ve read mixed reviews about the food so can not comment on that. 
Seemed like they didn’t want to speak to you on departure as I was told to drop my key in the basket once I have departed my room - I did however find this a very strange way to check-out of a hotel. 
Overall it was a pleasant stay, but quite expensive for just a basic hotel. The whole place needs a refurb and a de-clutter as it seems like it hasn’t had one for years!
