Great location, wonderful town to stay in, but parking was a real problem

The location was great. We visited several Cotswolds villages. This one was the most pleasant to walk around. The service was great. The full English breakfast was wonderful with eggs(fried or scrambled), bacon, sausage, tomatoes, beans, and toast with creamy butter and an assortment of jams and honey. The young lady working there was very helpful and polite. Overall, a great stay.

Great location, room was clean and cosy. Very friendly staff.

Second time we've stayed here now, it's a great location and the rooms are surprisingly quiet when it's busy outside. The staff are great and helpful, the breakfast is very good  as well. Only downside is if you go during peak tourist times it maybe a struggle to get parking.

Our room was very spacious and comfortable, the service and breakfasts were great and you can't beat the location

As Americans, driving to and in Bourton-on-the-Water was interesting. And when we arrived we really appreciated the forethought of the staff to email us instructions on parking and entering the the Chestnut B&B.  I wanted and got a cozy non-modern room that could act as a flat in the middle of the village.  I love the age and charm of the building. The amenities were exactly what we needed to rest well, freshen, and then roam the village.  I could imagine I was a local and the everyone we met was very warm and welcoming. The Chestnut B&B felt like my home in the village.

The B&B is lovely and cosy and the staff are fantastic. The main entrance was tricky to find and parking was a bit unclear. Although I received information about 6 parking spaces available to guest prior to arriving, they were not that clear on the day. We ended up parking elsewhere. It's not a massive issue but be prepared to pay around £10 per day.Our room was beautifully decorated and had a small shower/ toilet. The building is about 300 years old so do not expect a brand new facilities. It's charming and cosy  but it is small.The room was warm and clean.You need to order your breakfast the day before and select one of 4 options at one of 3 sittings. You can choose between porridge, banana bread, granola or Full English and you book your table for 8.30, 9 or 9.30am.  In addition to your choice you can have plenty of toasts with jams or marmalade, Weetabix, cereal, coffee, tea, orange and apple juice.The dining room again is cosy and there is not a lot of space with the tables big enough for only two peopleWe had full English and it was delicious and very well prepared.All in all, a lovely place but if like me you enjoy space, you might not be 100% comfortable...My wife liked it for more than me so it shows that opinions are very subjective.

Staff are very friendly, we were grateful for the email prior to arrival explaining how to find the b&b and how/where to park. Bed was very comfy (room 9) and room was really spacious, not as expected, but still happy with what we were given! Location is perfect, but we did feel that due to the sparse amount of parking spaces we didn’t want to venture out in case we were left with nowhere to park when we returned! We did visit on a very busy weekend in July though! The breakfast was lovely, try the banana bread it’s delicious! The noise every time we used the shower was slightly annoying, as we only stayed 2 nights it wasn’t too bad, but I can imagine it’s worse if you are staying longer. The paintwork, carpets and curtains and bathroom need a freshen up, it’s a very old building with lots of character so we weren’t too fussed about creaky or uneven floors etc. but it’s definitely in need of an update where possible. Also it was extremely hot in our room at night, a fan would have been appreciated. If you’re a towel snob like me you may want to bring your own. Overall it was a lovely place and we would definitely visit again! None of the above spoiled our trip at all, just things to be aware of before you go. 

Great location, lots of character but in need of a refresh in areas

Arrived to a friendly welcome and showed to our suite which was way more than we were expecting.  Some improvements are being undertaken to some of the rooms but didn’t affect us in any way.  

Breakfast was preordered accompanied with enough cereal toast and juice that you could fit in. Great start to the day. 

Complimentary cream tea was a great extra when you book direct with the hosts.

Restaurants at the Rose Tree and Lantra were recommended to us and were fabulous.  

Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon. 



Birthday break in the Cotswolds

Just come back from 4 nights stay at this B&B and found the central location fantastic with parking. The room was comfy and the breakfast was very good. What made the stay that little bit special was the very friendly and helpful host where nothing was too much trouble. It started when we first walked in where she offered to help us upstairs with our luggage. 
We went out of Bourton a few times and we used public transport as some of the villages (Market day at Moreton on The Marsh) parking is a nightmare ! 
If we should return to Bourton we would book this B&B.

Great hosts

We've just spent an amazing few days at Bourton-on-the-Water the village is very picturesque and lots of walks to do and places to visit, we stayed at Chestnuts B&B and couldn't fault it, Lis you and your team are amazing, we booked directly with them so had an earlier check-in and also a complimentary Afternoon tea, there is a constant supply of bottled water from a fridge on the second floor, breakfast very good, will definitely recommend. 

A few days away 

Very warm and welcoming, although in town and above shops it is very quiet considering its location. I have stayed in at least 5 hotels/bed&breakfast places in Bourton and the chestnut best so far.Clifton very helpful and seems to be always there or around(in a good way) room was very spacious and clean, room had a fridge and endless supply of fresh water and milk in the communal fridge.if your room has no fridge the communal one available.heating was spot on but windows opened if fresh air is your thing. You must for breakfast try the toasted banana bread accompanied with set honey and set yogurt …..trust me it works and very moorish !!! The owner is also very nice and always helpful.

Quiet rooms,pleasant staff and ace food.

This B&B is perfectly located in the center of the High Street, but is quite and peaceful due to its entry being in a small lane behind the main street.The proprietors were extremely friendly and helpful as to advising us about the area, and went out of their way to make last-minute dinner reservations for us.  We would definitely recommend Chestnuts B&B to anyone thinking about visiting Bourton-on-the-Water.

My husband and I stayed at Chestnut for our first visit to The Cotswolds!  What a fabulous location!  The location beside the water and near shops, bars and restaurants is absolutely perfect!  But the best part is the wonderful staff!  Clifton and Isabella made us feel so at home with their kindness, willingness to help and their generous hearts!  What a pleasure to see them for 5 days!  We highly recommend Chestnut B&B!
