We may well have been the last guests at Smugglers, but our stay was as welcoming and comfortable as last year.  Superb breakfasts. We'll miss the house and gardens and the doggies next year. All the best for the next adventure Patricia!

From when we arrived we loved it, the studio was perfect for our stay. Enough room and good facilities. The garden is lovely and huge. Patricia was very welcoming, friendly  and helpful and Patricia stocked us up with bread, butter, milk etc which was very thoughtful. The dogs are lovely and didn't bother us once during our stay. We will be back again for sure. 

Stayed here for a friends wedding in the local area.

The negative comments about this B&B are way off the mark. The property/room was fantastic with all the facilities you could ask for...and a nice few added touches to make it feel extra special

The host, Patricia, couldnt have been more welcoming; my partner and I really felt relaxed and at home. The breakfast was wonderful, and the home grown potatoes were a special touch.

As for the three friendly dogs, they just gave that extra touch to make it feel like home

I had a lovely 2 days at Smugglers. On arrival we were greeted by 3 gorgeous & friendly dogs first then by Patricia who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. 

We had tea & biscuits served to us in the garden after we had been shown our very spacious & tidy bedroom. 

The breakfast was fabulous & I felt that Patricia went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our few days. Nothing negative to say & I am pretty shocked at what some others have written as it's definitely not anywhere near the experience I had. 

I would stay here again & I would recommend to friends & family

My wife and i had the "experience" of staying at the smugglers in August. We had read the previous reviews of the B&B on trip advisor, but gave the owners the benefit of the doubt. 
Upon arrival at the Smugglers, we experienced the very rude owner who commented on my wife's parking. My wife is 72 and we had just drove over 200 miles. Not the welcome we expected. 
We are a dog friendly couple, but draw the line when dogs are rampaging around and barking constantly. Having albeit friendly dogs, it's never welcome to have them jump up at you when arriving. 
The smell of dogs was rather off putting, so we chose to leave some of our clothes in the car. 

The area is lovely, and we spent alot of our time outside of the B&B going for walks. Upon returning to our room, we found it difficult to relax due to our dirty room and dog haired carpet. 

All in all, we were very disappointed with our break, we only get the opportunity to go on a couple a year, and my wife was very upset after the experience. 
A must for lovers of rude customer service and dirty rooms.
