We liked:
the staff (fun)
the lounge was great with the fireplace
bedroom was fine

Room for improvement on:
opening hours for the bar - open earlier? no option to buy drinks later?
toilets weren't that clean and some didnt have loo roll
pool table was bust, and VHS machine looks like its a century old and doesnt work

overall - really nice stay in a quaint building at a reasonable price

The hostel was lovely, we loved the big garden (with great arrangements, furnitures and view to the sea) and the living room, really cosy and nicely decorated. The room, (the nurse room), although a bit outdated, is good for two people and the boiler, located in a cupboard in the room, didn't make any noise. However, unfortunately the flush of the toilet was leaking and made noise for most of the night, which can be fixed for the next costumers. The kitchen was great as well. We're happy we've discovered this Hostel.

Great cozy hostel

The hostel was clean and tidy. the décor is a little tatty in places and the rooms a little musty but the bunk beds more comfortable than expected.  Rooms are warm and the welcome friendly.  The lounge and kitchen  areas was large and fellow guests all friendly.

The river is just behind the house and the views nice.  Watched the river tidal bore which was a little underwhelming.

The hostel is ideal for those wishing to travel and stay on a tight budget, others may prefer a hotel.

Saturday night stayover with a large group

Booked our stay via YHA website where it is still marketed as a YHA type facility. Lacking from the usual YHA standards. Heater in the room didn't work. Offered an inadequate small radiator by staff that really didn't have the capacity to heat the room at all. No laundry facility which was frustrating as we were expecting to be able to wash our clothes at this point in our trip. Only one shower on our floor, the other one was out of order. Staff friendly and kitchen facilities okay but wouldn't recommend if you're expecting the usual YHA standards. Won't be staying again.

Not really up to yha standard

Basic but very clean and affordable and set in a beautiful place on morecombe bay. Great walks, and if you’re reasonably fit it’s well worth popping up arnside knott for great views of the mountains. Good pubs in town too and a nice bakery. Very family friendly and dog friendly too
