Maureen gave us a very friendly welcome on arrival 😊. Large bedroom with a stunning view.  Even had some homemade shortbread with the courtesy tray. Customers had use of a lounge. Breakfast cooked well, delicious and to order. Even had homemade muesli, jam and marmalade. 
We will be back. 

Lovely stay.

Immaculately clean throughout. We stayed in a room at the front which had glorious views accross the countryside. Breakfast cooked to order and served at a dining table with a tablecloth!  Off road parking.  Maureen and Michael were excellent hosts. Definately reccommend.

Welcoming Bed and Breakfast.

Maureen was the greatest host. We turned up soaked to the skin after abadoning our bike ride at Cartmel and arriving by taxi. Our amazing host took all our wet clothes and had them perfectly dry for the next day. Not only that but after a perfect stay and wonderful breakfast she drove us all the way back to Cartmel to continue our ride. We couldn't have asked for more.

The only downside for me, which is due to my own personal taste, is the house is very old-fashioned and I prefer modern bathroom facilities
I can’t say the property needs updating as this would not be in keeping with the age of the house and I would definitely stay there again

Nice stay in Brigsteer

Maureen was the perfect host, greeting us on arrival ensuring safe distancing and Covid measures were maintained.  Throughout our stay she was a pleasure to speak with, offering guidance when discussing plans for the day ahead in the Lake District.  The cooked breakfast was delicious and yoghurts, cereal and fresh juice also available.  Maureen also bakes her own bread, which was a real treat. The room was great, good size for a four night stay, ample drawer and hanging space, with tea, coffee with a kettle.  The bathroom was also a good size and both the room and bathroom were extremely clean.  The view from our room (number 3) of the mountains was great.  Location wise it was easy to get around the Lake District and the perfect base for us to enjoy our four day trip.
There is also a local pub, The Wheatsheaf, which was a pleasant five minute walk away which served delicious food and ales.

Beautiful B&B - great location and views

A small village location away from the bustle of Lakeland.Well kept accomodation providing excellent facilities and family run it gives personal attention to detail.Lovely host Maureen who nothing is too much trouble providing an excellent breakfast with all the trimmings to set your day off well.

Superb accomodation away from the crowds

For the past three years we have stopped off at Plumtree House on our way back from our family holiday in the Highlands.  This time my husband somehow booked for only 4 of us when we were in fact a party of 5.  You would think that this could have caused a problem but in fact Maureen was unfazed and made us all very welcome indeed. Plumtree House is a haven, spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable in a truly beautiful setting.  Our two dogs were equally welcome.  We left after a great night's sleep and a tasty hot breakfast.  Thank you to our hosts!  We will be back!

Another wonderful stay

Maureen & Micheal are a lovely couple, warm,friendly approachable and glad to advise of local walks in the area. Room was spotless with tea/coffee biscuits. Breakfast was gorgeous, just enough to set you up for the day. We enjoyed very much the peace and tranquility of this B&B situated in a beautiful part of the country. We walked to the black Labrador pub which was about an hour away but the food was well worth it. There is a pub just 5 mins down the road that does food too. It's about 3 miles from Kendal which is a good walk from plum tree house.. not for the faint hearted as it's on a very steep incline before you eventually descend into Kendal. Taxi back from Kendal was around £9. We took the dogs with us and could take them into the pubs/ restaurants. It's a very dog friendly area and they loved it as much as we did. Fab stay at Plumtree House

Stayed here during the Easter bank holiday weekend, Maureen is a lovely host! The room was pleasant with some stunning views across the hills. The little village was picturesque and in a good location for Windermere and Kendal. 
The breakfast was lovely and plenty of it, Maureen is a very approachable and welcoming host, it was a pleasure to stay. Would definitely return in the future as it is a great location for exploring the Lake District.

Amazing little B&B

We stayed in the red room, with amazing views over the valley, all amenities provided for a lovely stay. Recommend this B & B to anybody. A lovey village with a really nice public house a short walk away.
