What a bootiful guest house. Spotlessly clean the location is amazing. Centre of Cardiff not to much of a distance away. Amazing charity shops found a slazenger hoody for my husband Harold a steal at 3.50 and a Lacoste bag for my Chantelle 4 quid. If you love a good rummage for deals Cardiff never disappoints  The bed was solid and firm helped my back. Kettle in room too Im always gasping for a typhoo so this was very handy. The tV helped drown out Harolds snoring as he suffers with bad nasal congestion. The window in the bathroom was very handy as I always like to see what Harold is up to as he spends 20 minutes at a time on the lavatory.  
Will definitely be back..

Ideal location

Want a dingy room ? A room that has outdated decor ? The risk of electrocution in the shower due the light fitting above the shower door? Fancy your boyfriend or girlfriend watching you go to the toilet due to a window fitted in the bathroom that is directly in the bedroom? Do you fancy having a kettle and cups in your room but no coffee or tea ? Then this is the guesthouse perfect for you.. filthy (tick) step back in time (tick) need to take out a life insurance policy before taking a shower (tick).. save your money !!!

Cleaner to stay at the tip

We stayed at this B&B for one night only in June-thankfully!
Me and the wife stayed in a double room and my brother in a single room.
As we went upstairs we got a sinking feeling. We opened the door to the room and the smell hit us, a mix of cigatettes and uncleanliness.
Blimey, the telly needed repairing as the freeview box had been damaged, the arial was torn out of the back of the box, the TV stand was broken. The nets and blind stank of fags and was did nothing to block out the light from outside. The window ledge had cigarette ash all over it. The shower was so slow it dribbled, the shower curtain was filthy and there was part of a PVC door to step out onto after showering.
When you ran the basin taps the shower tray backed up with water and smelt of foul waste. The saniflo pump for the toilet was as noisey as a van revving! The appliances were not pat tested up to date which is surely not right. The bed looked like it was knocked from pallet wood. The pillows were paper thin. 
We kept our socks on whilst in the room as the carpet was not clean. And we slept on top of the duvet as we didn't dare pull it back.
We took a look in the dining room and decided not to stay for breakfast, the food was left out on the side ready for the next morning unrefridgerated.
I work in construction so have had to lodge  away a lot, but this dump was the worst ever. We paid 85 pounds for a double room and 35 pounds for the single, we told the owner on leaving that it was not up to standard and his nonchalant response was that it was cheap!!!
The owner of this property has no interest in the comfort of his customers, he is taking our money and surely laughing, we highly recommend that you choose elsewhere to stay.

Absolute Dump Beware!

We stayed over 1 night to watch Stereophonics. Booked a double and single room. Where do I start?! Like something from Rigsbys Rising Damp! Sanilav toilets in 1 room. When you ran the taps, the whole room smelt of Poo!    Bad electrics. Four poster bed you couldn't walk around and which looked like it was made from scrap wood. Toilets were dirty and wouldn't flush properly. Cigarette ash on the window sil. There were also blinds instead of curtains and curtains you couldn't fully shut properly, so you ended up waking up at 4.30am in the morning. Add to that an owner, when asked to do something simple would take an eternity to respond. You would be better off staying at Fawlty Towers than this place. Awful.

Dirty and disgusting

Where do I start !! Poor welcome to hotel there where 8 of us in total booked 4 rooms at £80 each handed keys to room brief mutter about the breakfast that was already set out this was 6.30 on the Saturday evening, cheese , butter , yogurts, that should be refrigerated our rooms where discusting a smashed window with broken glass , shower did not work , the shower door fell off , extension leads hanging bent radiator wires hanging out of the ceiling boards going into the smoke alarm if it worked! Damp every where cracked sink the owners should be ashamed of them selfs hope they are closed down STAY AWAY is my advice !! Poor

Discusting

Luckily our group of 8 were only in Cardiff for one night. We had booked 4 double rooms back in February and immediately on arrival we were made aware that you don't always get what you book. We were told that they don't have 4 doubles available and someone will have to sleep in a twin, no apology, no gesture of good will, just a take it or leave it attitude.
I'd read a few bad reviews about the place and thought to myself that it can't be that bad........ I was wrong. We had a four poster bed that I think had been knocked together with left overs from someone's gardening project. The shower was in one cupboard, the sink was in the bedroom and the toilet was in another tiny cupboard.  My advice for using the toilet would be to remove the necessary garments in the bedroom and back in to the toilet but do be aware as you pass the window that the blind doesn't cover the whole window. The 6 mirrors in the room did little to make it look bigger and I'm  not really sure about the purpose of the knee height mirror beside the sink. The TV and reconditioned freeview box don't work, the extension lead they're plugged in too had wires exposed. The lights on the "dressing table" haven't been PAT tested since 2009, they should be checked annually. 
Talking to our friends in the other rooms, it would appear that all rooms are fairly similar.
We took a look in the dining room before heading out for the evening to see it all set up for breakfast, all the food was out ready too, including yoghurts on the shelf, cheese slices and dairy spread on the table, all of which should be refrigerated.  Needless to say we didn't stop for breakfast in the morning. 
In summary, this place needs complete modernisation or a visit from Environmental Health.
We won't be back!
