Travelodge Cardiff Atlantic Wharf Hotel

Pretty standard travelogue, but a great stay, booked in advance so had a good price, hotel offered free parking which is a rarity in a city centre, and it was located well, staff were good, the room was an ok size, plenty tho for 1 person, and it was clean, I ate breakfast at hotel and it was fresh and tasty. I’d be happy to return 

We stayed in Atlantic wharf Travelodge 4 days with my kids (3 under the age of 5) during Christmas holiday, and we had the most comfortable nights sleep ever. Hotel was very clean, room was spacious and location was great.The service was phenomenal, special thanks goes to Kim, who accommodated our needs and provided us with a warm welcome from the start to end. She made our stay easy and memorable and I will definitely come back to this hotel again in my next visit. Thank you so much Kim for your kindness and professionalism.  

We stayed at this Travelodge over Christmas. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel very well over our stay and my Husband and I spent most of our time in the hotel room. Fortunately for us, the bed was very comfortable. 
What really stood out about our stay however, and made it most comfortable was the service we received from staff, in particular Kim. We requested a number of items to make our stay more comfortable (pillows, a fan, ice for drinks etc) and she attended to everything as if it was no trouble, despite being aware that at times she was clearly the only staff member managing the desk and customer requests.

 She performed her duties in a calm and friendly manner, and genuinely made us feel welcome during our stay. That is not the personal touch you usually anticipate from a hotel chain like Travelodge. 

Last but not least, she befriended our dog during the stay and went out of her way to treat him, so much so, that on trips to the lobby twice a day, he became accustomed to looking for her, they made fast friends. Want to thank Kim, and staff for making our stay over Christmas, as comfortable as it could have been.


The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Everyone made me feel very welcome and safe travelling alone. Paula and Kim were both really great answering my questions while I was staying. 

Breakfast was really good and the location is perfect for a range of activities close by.

We stayed in the Cardiff Atlantic Warf Travelodge in Feb and we could not fault it.
The staff...all of them are amazing. Helpful and willing to please.
The hotel was clean, warm and comfy.
All lifts worked all the time.
Parking is free and always room in the car park.
The café bar was as good as any other, if not better as its laid out so everyone has space between their table and the next.
Food is exceptional value for money are the room prices!
It's madness to stay in a Hugh priced hotel when the TL offers the same service for way less money!!


Very surprised to be able to book a room on Christmas Eve. Very pleased with my room and the view. As always the staff were very welcoming from the moment I arrived. Will definitely be staying here again in the not to distant future. Stayed in a few Travelodge's before, and including this one

Saw musiccalhad wonderful experience at musical and at travelodge. Room very neat and comfortable which added to experience. Shops and restaurants  bars in a very picturesque setting always provides u nforgettable stay

Went for family birthday and love this hotel
The staff were friendly, location excellent and free parking.

We made use of the facilities in Cardiff bay - great choice of bars and restaurants and then shopping the next day

Cleanliness and service exceptional.  Breakfast and service staff amazing. 
Booked for a late stay 2pm check out. Unfortunately the cleaner knocked at 12.20 which did disturb me. Would definitely book again. 

Have stayed in this hotel a few times. Great central location & free parking! Comfortable room and bed. No hairdryer in the room but available at reception. Friendly reception staff.  Would stay again.

Value for money!!!

Great hotel, easy to get to and bonus free parking. Booked a family room last minute and all beds were made up ready with towels and mugs for us all. We didn't pre book breakfast but paid for it in the morning, good selection and tasty. Only downside for me was that it was a dog friendly hotel and could hear barking when we we trying to get to sleep but overall a good stay, thank you. We will be back :)

Great hotel

Start with the positives- very friendly, welcoming staff. Clean room and comfy bed. Great location. Free parking ( no hassle). Negatives- the decor very tired. The hand soap dispenser in the toilet kept falling off the wall every time we used it. There was a fan in the shower which was quite noisy all night. The tv wouldn’t come on so we had to call someone up to sort it ( they did so promptly and politely and resolved the issue quickly). The carpets in the corridor were heavily stained. The grout in the toilet was black ( the room was clean however). There was a very strong smell of old stale cigarette smoke in the rooms. The disabled toilet in the reception area was dirty and messy ( and did not give a good first impression). It was fine for one night but also at approx £115 a night seems quite expensive.

Tired

The location is fantastic - easy distance to Cardiff bay with free parking.  Staff were friendly and the included breakfast exceeded our expectation.  The room is no-frill but has everything we needed for one night.  WIFI is not free if you need more than 30 mins but it wasn't an issue for us.  We enjoyed our stay overall and this would be our preferred place to stay next time we are in Cardiff.

The maintenance in hotel needs to be addressed, the reception staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you. Good location to facilities and hotel organised taxi into city when required which was good and a swift drink in bar whilst waiting is recommended.

Really excellent stay 

Comfy bed on 4th floor nice and quiet . Excellent  staff especially Kim who made us very welcome  🤗 Lovely breakfast with plenty of alternative foods to dairy (soya) Great location walking distance to the bay .
