We only stayed 1 night but Lisa was the perfect host, very helpful. The room was lovely, very comfy bed we slept like logs !!
Breakfast was cooked to perfection. We will be back for a longer stay next time.

Lisa was very welcoming could not do enough for us.  Breakfast amazing, quality produce. 
House is in good position to visit places of interest, 
10 stars five are not enough.   
Rooms are very comfortable and clean.
Plenty of local eating places.

Stayed here as we had a gin making experience at Hensol castle

We went the weekend of the bad weather(though it wasn't as bad as predicted)
Lovely clean room,bathroom was huge.
Nice little touches like Welsh cakes in the room and a personalised plaque on the door to the room.
Breakfast was excellent...so much choice and superb quality 
House was beautifully decorated for Christmas ,again with added touches like little bowls of sweets dotted around 
The roaring fire was welcome when returning.
Very short walk to the station with regular trains into Cardiff
Lovely Italian restaurant within walking distance
Will return and recommend

Fantastic stay away, Lisa was absolutely lovely and made us feel at home.
We stayed in the holiday home, which is a self contained building, with a lovely bed, and everything you could need. We had loads of breakfast options included, we didn’t have a cooked breakfast but definitely will next time. Would definitely recommend as somewhere to stay to explore Cardiff. 

We were given great recommendations for activities for our ten month old, as big fans of Gavin and Stacey we went to Barry island which was only just up the road. There are lots of takeaways that deliver and local shops a short walk into the village. 

Had a wonderful time and hope to stay again soon!

We booked this lodge as it was rated well and is situated close to Cardiff centre, while still being in a very quiet and pleasant area. 
Honestly we did not expect how fantastic it would be. 
Lisa the owner is absolutely fantastic and so welcoming. She makes you feel comfortable from the moment you meet her and it really felt a home from home. The room we had was very clean and comfortable, it had an internet TV that was great for a bit of chill time after all the sight seeing. The bed was really comfy and both me and my wife slept great. It also had a full en-suite bathroom and a spacious corner bath. The morning breakfast was brilliant and Lisa really went the extra mile in making it a great experience. 
There is a train station a pleasant 10 min walk down the road that takes you straight to Cardiff centre or Cardiff bay and the trains are very regular and cheap. Next trip we will get the train straight to Radyr from home rather than driving, as it’s so easy to get to. 
Absolutely 10/10 from us and we look forward to going back to explore Radyr more, there is allot of woodland around the area that looks beautiful and definitely warrants a good explore.

Wow! What a place. If you are looking for a cozy historical place to stay, with a friendly host and a relaxing atmosphere, then Ty Mynydd Lodge is the place.
Our room with en-suite was quiet, spacious, clean, and well-maintained, 
 Breakfast had a range of choices to suit an individual's needs. 
The Lodge is steeped in the history of Ronald Dahl, with books in the lounge should you want to read about him. There is ample parking and it's close to town with bus stops nearby.
 The host is friendly and warm, nothing is too much trouble.
Would stay there again and would recommend it to fellow travellers.

What can I say! This has been the most amazing stay and experience in a holiday lodge for a very long time. It was a beautiful lodge where Lisa was helpful and friendly and nothing was too much to ask. 

This was our first family holiday for a while and spent five days here. I cannot express how amazed I am by the level of detail and care that has been thought about in the lodge. The breakfast was lovely and so much choice. My little boy loved all the fruit options. 

We will be back in 2024 for sure. We will be recommending to family and friends.

An amazing b&b. Beautiful, comfortable room. Amazing breakfast. You certainly won't go hungry. Lisa, the proprietor, is very friendly and very welcoming. Cannot do enough to please her guests.    Will definitely be staying again each time we visit Cardiff. Definitely deserves 'excellent' rating.

Found this on booking.com as an alternative to the usual city hotels. Located in a  lovely part of the city and close yet close to the motorway. This historic house has plenty of atmosphere with period features, yet all mod cons. The highlight has to be Lisa's hospitality and personal touch, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast layout and range of options was much more extensive than we ever would have expected. Very reasonably priced. Highy recommend.

Excellent stay at Ty Mynydd lodge last week, Lisa and Llion are fantastic hosts, everything you need is provided and of a very high standard. Lovely rooms good powerful shower and comfy beds. Hotel standard breakfast which goes way beyond what would be expected at a property at this price. Book it now you won’t be disappointed, free parking and only 10-15 mins from the centre of Cardiff

Great home from home. So much to do and amazing train connections makes getting around a doddle.

Fantastic place to stay, very well placed for access to Cardiff and Caerphilly. Beautiful room, lovely comfortable bed, private and quiet. The morning breakfast is exceptional, witha large choice of cereals, fresh fruits, bread, bagels, croissants,muffins and juice, plus freshly brewed tea/coffee and also a choice of cooked items in addition, all beautifully presented in the lovely dining room
A warm, very typical Welsh welcome by Lisa, whose attention to detail is exceptional, ensuring our stay was head and shoulders better than other places I've visited. I will certainly come back here soon and highly recommend it 

Short stay at Ty Mynydd

You know when you find that gem of a b&b - clean, comfortable, friendly hosts and with a large array of those little touches that make all the difference from fresh flowers and fruit to fizzy water and fluffy dressing gowns - this was this cracker. We stayed in the self catering lodge to the side and was perfect size for our family of 3 plus the dog. Sad we couldn’t stay longer but we’ll be back!

Fab b&b that lives up to its great reviews!

Had a fantastic 2 nights at this lovely b&b.Jenny the host is so friendly and a fountain of local knowledge. Room was lovely, fresh flowers and even bath robes supplied. Very clean and lovely modern bathroom and shower.Breakfast was exceptional,plenty of choice,fresh fruit,cereals and cooked option.
All in all we can very highly recommend the lodge for anyone staying in Cardiff.
Train station is a 10 minute walk with trains into city centre very frequently.
