Brilliant Campsite with a very warm welcome from Ted who over the weekend could not be helpful enough. Loved the layout of the campsite along with its location on the river and close to the lake. We was a large group of 5 families and we all had the best time and really looking forward to going back again.

Snowdon Inn is a pretty rural campsite, with well spaced out pitches, and a great pizza cafe next door.

Ted the manager, was great, and made helpful suggestions about swimming and paddleboarding on the river. He also lent us two canoes, which was brilliant fun - and the route amongst the bushes and plants felt like a real adventure! 

The fire pits are a  great addition too.

There are 2 loos and 2 showers - which were perfectly fine for a rural campsite - and there was never a queue.

The title says it all really.

Amazing pizza, I had the spicy one.

Best pizza in Wales and the best pizza I’ve had in 22 years of life.

Beer was decent too. 

Not much else to say, I’m still writing because there is a two hundred characters minimum. Cheers!

Lovely campsite set in a wild meadow, we booked for one night at the last minute and the owner was really friendly and helpful. When we arrived the owner told us about a part of the river which was good for swimming and that we could use the canoes on site to paddle up the river (unfortunately we ran out of time to go canoeing) the swimming spot in the river is lovely but very deep so children definitely need life-jackets etc. which I hadn’t brought for my daughter but there were a group of children having a wonderful time on paddle boards who were more prepared with wetsuits and life jackets. The washing up area, showers and toilets are really clean and the showers are hot. There are also road swings hanging off an old tree in a wild meadow. Dog friendly also which is a bonus!

We were made very welcome by Ted, the owner who was very helpful throughout our stay. The facilities were constantly clean. The pitch was a little dry because of the very hot weather that we experienced (2nd week of August 2021) but was clean and spacious, There is a small river running alongside the campsite with a great pool for swimming in (with a ladder for access and a life ring). Ted keeps two Canadian canoes that can be used for a trip down the river which was a real adventure. A very rare Lilly, a 6 nest heronry, otters if lucky (we believe that we saw one at dusk. The highlight was a view from our tent of Snowdon and a super full moon rolling up the side of the mountain as it rose for the night. Better than a firework display. We will come back again. Great little campsite. Ted the owner was really friendly and accommodating. We booked late for a night during the early May bank hol weekend and he still managed to fit us in and sort us out with electric hookup for our van. 
The campsite is quiet, has amazing views and an “off grid” feel to it. The river is on your doorstep and there were paddle boats for campers to use. There are 2 showers + 2 toilets which were kept very clean. It is correct that on Fri + Sat you can’t use the showers from about 4pm - 8pm but this was clear on the website and it wasn’t a problem.
Had pizzas and beer from the cafe on the site. The staff there were wonderful too and cooked ours last + kept them warm as we weren’t getting back from Snowdon until 9pm. 
Can’t fault anything about it. Would definitely come here again.

Stopped here for 3 nights with friends, the fields are well looked after, the facilities are well kept. It has the best views of Snowdon and views down the Llyn Cwellyn lake. The owner is friendly and chatty, the pub is a short walk up a footpath. We'll be returning before the end of the year.

Great location for back to basic camping, everything is kept clean and tidy by the owner Ted, good warm showers and clean toilets, I would highly recommend this campsite in a perfect location by the river with stunning views of the mountains and hills.

 Tony (the owner) lives on site and is always walking around picking up rubbish and cleaning. He is also very friendly and helpful. 
The pitches are mowed areas amongst areas that have been allowed to grow wild. A great idea which gives the place character and a little privacy to your pitch. He also hasn't crammed in a pitches together which is a refreshing change. 
There are some electrical hook ups but recommend booking in advance. 
There are two showers and two toilets which on the face of it doesn't seem a lot but it seemed to work. 
Tony keeps the showers and toilets clean and well stocked with toilet paper.
The showers are electric with decent water pressure so running out of hot water isn't an issue. 
Pizza's and beer are served Friday and Saturday night by Tony's Son inlaw and are a must try and great value. 
There is an electrical issue which means that during the pizza evening (4:15pm until 8:15pm) the electricity is turned off to the showers. Not sure if this is a short term issue or not.
There is also a washer and a tumble dryer available. 
Prices are very reasonable, £8 / person per night plus £5 per night per electrical hook up. 
The campsite is also next to a river with a great swimming area available. It's deep so beware of non-swimmers. Tony also has a couple of kayaks to borrow.
The bunkhouses have been closed during the Pandemic and I suspect may not open again - TBC. 
Each pitch has a firepit. Tony has wood for sale but you can bring your own wood and method of lighting. 

Fifth Time in visiting Y Fricsan and a massive thankyou to Ted once again. Turned Upchoping for a pitch in the campervan for the night and Ted was more than welcoming.
This is just pure tranquility we love it here hence why we keep returning.
Lovely lake on the site, you can have camp fires and a clean shower and toilet block.
Definately the place to be if visiting Llanberis.

Ted answered our late notice enquiry, and met us on arrival late in the evening to show us to our pitch. Ted was really welcoming and helpful, giving us handy tips for exploring the area. 

The site had everything you needed and waking up to the surrounding mountains was a huge plus. Facilities were clean and there was a general friendly vibe. Would highly recommend. Cheers Ted!

Impromptu trip to llanberis

Decided a few weeks back to take a trip to Snowdonia with my partner and a couple of friends. After searching the web for a campsite we decided to opt for Y Fricsan / The Snowdon Inn and couldn’t have asked for a better base. Excellently located at a 10-15 minute drive to Pen-Y-Pass car park and 5 minute drive to Llyn Padarn. Facilities were spotlessly clean. Toilets and showers excellently maintained throughout the day, soap and sanitiser everywhere you looked. Fire pits situated on each pitch with logs for sale on site. Ted makes this site what it is though, he’s always around to give you a bit of advice or chop a log for kindling, he seems genuinely interested in what you’re doing and from what we could gather has a strong interest in doing his bit for the environment which is great to see.

My 12 yr old son and I visited for 2 nights on the 3rd September and we instantly felt like we’d found a gem of a place that suited us perfectly! We then met Ted, who I had been communicating with via email up to this day and he was so accommodating, friendly and extremely helpful. 
The site itself has its own swimming pool pond and although we didnt use it, still found it absolutely stunning, along with the rest of the surrounding views. 
The Toilets, showers and washing up area was immaculately clean and always more than one toilet roll in each toilet cubicle. Hand sanitisers galore! 
Bakehouse has the best oven baked pizzas and the cube hut had lovely cheesy chips!!!!

We cant wait to visit this place again 💕
