The stay was brilliant. Good location, and perfect little room. Plenty of goodies left out for us - hot chocolate sachets, biscuits, and even porridge pots for the morning. Lovely staff/service

Stayed for new years eve and a meal. We thought the meal was excellent, nothing was too much trouble for the staff who looked after us. 
We stayed in a small double, room very warm but cosy! Only bit that was annoying which had got nothing to do with the hotel was bin lorry at ten to 7 on new years day morning waking us up😡

Very good service,and great food,we had a lovely beef Sunday dinner with a apple and raspberry crumble,lovely atmosphere,clean and tidy, lovely Xmas decor,nice and warm,catering for shoppers and walkers alike,children and dogs welcome,

Loved it! Friendly service, traditional and cosy and good variety of beers including local ales. Friendly staff, good food and drinks. Outside space, couldn’t be more central, dog friendly. Definitely would go back when visiting Bakewell

Unreal! Food is so so good! We had a homemade steak and ale pie and a gammon. So so nice!! We finished by sharing a sticky toffee pudding. Again, unreal. Nice atmosphere and a must if you’re in the area!!! We would 100% come again if we pass by. STUNNING!

I'd like to start by saying what a lovely weekend my boyfriend and myself had! The new management & Team were very welcoming and friendly. Rachel & Alex made you feel at ease and couldn't be more pleasant. The food was impeccable  and service was great also! It's doggy friendly which is always an added bonus for me!
The rooms are lovely, they have everything you need from coffee, tea & biscuits even down to hairdryer! The bed was super comfy and managed a great nights sleep
We will definitely be back. There's also plenty of nice walks, shops and beautiful scenery surrounding. It's the ideal spot for a mini break

New management in place, Rachel and her team looked after our party so well, the food was fabulous and the service very friendly! We stayed in the accommodation which was so comfy! Best night sleep in a long time! Thank you we will be back. ❤️ sxx

Very nice evening meal and a fantastic overnight stay. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Had a peaceful nights sleep. Management and staff very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and would happily stay again.

I have been going to Bakewell since the 1970's but in 2011 I moved to Scotland. 
I have seen the change over the ages but I love the Red Lion as it is what a pub / hotel should be. Cosy & welcoming. I came down for the weekend to see the sights again & stock up on Bakewell Puds ! 
Before the long drive back home my pal & I popped into The Red Lion for dinner.
It was extremely busy but the staff were friendly.
We ordered 2 roast beef dinners .... OMG .. they were amazing. The best tasting roast dinner I have had, the mixture of veg was perfect & don't get me started on the rest of it - Delicious.
We enjoyed it so much that next time we drive down to Bakewell we're going to make sure it includes a Sunday so we can go back to The Red Lion for another delicious roast !!

Excellent lunch at a reasonable price.

We popped in whilst waiting to collect the car from a local garage.  The pub was clean and had a real fire going so warm pub and warm welcome.  We ordered two fish finger baguettes, one without tartare sauce and found a table with our drinks.  The food when it arrived was lovely and fresh.  Good quality fish and tasty crisp batter.  Well done kitchen only one of the meals was served with sauce, it’s appreciated when your requests are followed.  

A trip to the ladies allowed me to see that these were also as well kept as the main pub.

The Red Lion is ideally situated in Bakewell,although there is no parking at the accommodation,there is plenty nearby. The only negative comment id make about the accommodation is the double bed is very small,other than that the rooms are very clean etcThe town is very quiet,and there's not a lot happening on an evening

Well placed in centre of Bakewell. Friendly staff. Nice large double bedroom with en suite. As they don't serve breakfast there were a couple of complimentary porridge pots and breakfast biscuits. Tea and coffee making facilities with plenty of t-bags, milk, coffee and hot chocolate sachets with packets of biscuits. Hallway outside room decoration was looking a bit tired. Had a very nice evening meal in the pub

Great place and friendly management!

Great rooms above a lovely homely pub. Good food, well kept ales and attentive welcoming staff. Recently changed hands, the new Landlord and Landlady have done a brilliant job in restoring the pub to its former popularity. Recommended for an overnight stay in lovely Bakewell or a family get together. Super doggie friendly too

Characterful Inn with a warm welcome

Great pub in a beautiful village.  Very cosy bar area with friendly staff, people and dogs.  The room itself was very comfortable and warm.However, we only had enough milk for 2 cups of tea, and only 3 'normal' tea bags.  We tried to get more but the downstairs door was locked until 8:30am.  We tried again at 9am but the door was still locked.  The only way to exit was the fire escape, which we had to take at 10:00am as that was check out time - the downstairs door was still locked.  To make matters worse, it had snowed over night making the fire escape a slippery danger zone - not so good for my girldfriend's bad achilles and probably also not so good for elderly guests etc.overall, 4 out of 5.  Would stay again. Thanks

Last minute night away. Great welcome and accompanied to the room on check in. Nice touches of fresh water, coffee and even a Bakewell tart! I must say the bed and bedding are the comfiest ever, I wanted to take it home. Only downside was the walls are pretty thin which can’t be helped, we had a group of noisy boys next door who disturbed us at 4am!! The owner was made aware and was very apologetic. All in all I would definitely stay here again.

Impromptu lunch

Overnight stay in the wonderful town of Bakewell. 
The Red Lion is what I call a typical British pub, with traditional wooden and leather furniture and log burning fireplaces. 
Friendly staff, particularly the “landlord Rob” and a good selection of food and drink. 
The bedrooms were lovely but very warm. 
Breakfast was great. 
We would stay here again and would recommend it to others
