Downton Lodge Country Bed and Breakfast, and Self Catering

We have stayed in Dittisham many times , but this was our first ( but not last visit ) to Downton Lodge . We opted for the self catering barn , as we are always too tired to go out for dinner the evenings , and like the option of preparing something light , at our base . Upon arrival , we were greeted by Andrew and Martin , who were very welcoming . They gave us a guided tour , and answered any questions we had . They could not have been more welcoming . The barn was outstanding , beautifully decorated to a high standard and everything included that you might need , eg: umbrellas , scrabble & even a fly zapper ( which we didn’t need ) . The best thing about the barn , was the far reaching views from every window , the pristine lawn and all the beautiful flowers . Their’ was the garden that I can only dream of having . Thank you for opening up your beautiful piece of Heaven , it was a joy to visit and hopefully we will see you again .
