Amazing place to stay and food was lovely too

I had a great stay at the Sutherland Inn. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The food was very good. Since I had an early golf round, they made me a sack lunch to grab and go. Friendly staff - I would absolutely stay here again.

Nice pub with a friendly bar and excellent restaurant, rooms were small but comfortable. Parking was across the road in the Co-op car park.

Very friendly and pleasant staff, great breakfast and accommodated an early breakfast

Good night’s stay in village pub popular with locals. Rooms were well kept, clean and comfortable. Food was very good, service was slow as food prepared to order. Like everywhere, it seems, would benefit from an extra member of staff. Not much happens in the village but there is a decent cafe, a good ice cream shop, and a well-stocked shop.

Good place to break a long journey

The staff were very friendly, efficient and could not do enough for us. We had our evening meal in the hotel on each night of our stay and were very impressed with the choice, quality and quantity of the food we ordered. The breakfast was very good and we were able to order as many of each item as we wanted. The breakfast chef and the young lady who served us could not have been more friendly and attentive. Our room was cosy and quiet and the beds were extremely comfortable. My only complaint was that the bottle of Pinot Grigio I ordered with dinner was a Jack Rabbit with the staggering price tag of £29.94. However I have to say that I should have asked what the make of Pinot Grigio was and the cost of it before ordering. A lesson learned!

We had booked in for dinner knowing we'd be visiting Dunrobin Castle that day and didn't want to go far for dinner. The place is a typical older Inn with basic decor. We were very pleasantly surprised however with the food. Very generous portions at reasonable prices. There was only one waitress managing the whole room which were about 5 or 6 different parties but she did an excellent job. Very good!

Good meal, good value

This hotel is exactly what is says, an Inn. Nothing fancy, clean tidy, a good inexpensive stopping place which takes dogs. Staff were conscientious, polite and accommodating. Food both evening meal and breakfast were fine, basic pub grub but not everything with chips. Hearty portions at a reasonable price.

Unexpected value and service

We had an amazing stay. Cycling the NC500, we were able to lock our bikes securely in their back store rooms. We arrived about 6pm but was able to book dinner for the evening. Delicious hearty food, perfect after a day cycling. I was expecting to receive a courier package for my bike at the hotel and needed to wait at the hotel. All the staff were completely amazing and kept an eye out for my package and messaged me as soon as it arrived. The area has some great places to visit, we visited the local distillery, the tours were all booked up, but we had a taster flight and the bartender was brilliant in advising about all the different whiskies. I would definitely stay at this place again!

Great stay in a perfect location

Lovely choice for an overnight stay.Arriving at the Sutherland around 4.30 in the afternoon. The check in was very quick and I was shown to the room within 5 minutes of arriving.The room was comfortably made up and the heating had been switched on prior to my arrival. Lots of wardrobe and drawer space a small desk /dresser and a small wall mounted TV along with a lage double bed made up the main room There were copious amounts of coffee and tea and a couple of packets of Biscuits and unusually a load of milk cartons.The bathroom had a large bath with a tap controlled shower a wash hand basin and the usual toilet.The pipes seemed to be small bore as there was one of the eviscerator outflows that seemed to make a bit of noise.The bed was lovely and comfortableI ate dinner at the hotel I had chicken a la Brora which was delicious. Unfortunately breakfast started at 7.30 am and as I had an early train I did not have any due to time restrictions.Over all I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay at the Sutherland the bar was well stocked and busy.If you have a shower at 6am you have to run a lot of water to get to the hot stuff. Good job the Sutherland area has no shortage of rain

We were welcomed warmly by friendly staff, showing us to our room and helping with our bags. We were offered food, even though we arrived late. 
The room was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Again, helpful and friendly staff made this a great stay.
A nice pub, the room was quiet and the river view was lovely. 

Comfortable stay

Parked across road in coop car park as hotel has no parking facilities but its a minute away so this is not a problem... easy check in and shown to room ..  it was dusk when we arrived and curtains were shut and room looked cosy and homely... clean.. good shower.. tea making facilities.. everything you needed.. we didnt eat here but smells from kitchen were mouthwatering food going out looked good... altho we were on main road it was quiet so we got good sleep... good choice at breakfast and food was hot and delicious .. we will no doubt be back.. staff made our stay very welcoming

Lovely stay

Last night we had a family get together after a wedding the day before.
Table of 20 in the dining room was set up for us ,the room was cold but we had excellent service from our young waiter George , most impressed with how he managed to take the order , repeat it back to us made not even one mistake and served us all by himself ,even went to the bar for our drinks .we were a bit loud and a lot of hilarity was going on but he was not put off ,we thoroughly enjoyed our meal , well done to the kitchen staff too .

Great service 

Got a bit scared when I arrived to the building - the sign outside is missing letters, which usually isn’t a good sign at all (no pun intended). However, this little inn is great, nice room with a fresh bathroom. Parking is really easy at the co-op parking next door. The breakfast is enough to keep you full for most of the day!
