Lovely friendly hotel nothing too much trouble. Beautiful rooms very clean and welcoming. Jeff, Steff, Tamara and Alison always there to make sure you have a fantastic time.
Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice relaxing holiday. 
See you next year we have already booked. 

Just returned from a three night stay at the Mayfield. We had a large double ensuite,which was lovely clean and comfortable. Lovely fluffy towels and dressing gown. The breakfasts were excellent plenty to choose from. Excellently placed for getting out and about, good value for money

I must admit I am a little late reviewing this B & B in Paignton, only by a week or so. My wife, myself, Jo ans Shazza arrived to a very warm welcome on the Friday afternoon. We were shown to our rooms and were amazed that the owner had thought of every little thing to make our 2 night stay memorable. Choccies, toffees, bottled water, towling robes the whole shaboodle. A quirky little thing was the vast breakfast menu in our rooms, you picked what you wanted, wrote it down and posted it on the notice board the night before. Breakfast was superb, the table groaned under the weight of every concievable sundry you could ever imagine. Im a big chap and the full english didnt dissapoint, ther were 3 other families in the same time as us and one of them has been coming for 22 years....WOW. Being so close to the town centre and Grockle Alley this B & B ticked every box....apart from one thing....a box of Anadin in the rooms would have kept our hangovers at bay, of course I jest, this is a cracking little place and well done to you all, see you again.

It may sound a cliche but the Mayfield really was a home from home.

With top facilities, cosy rooms, amazing breakfast options and many unique decrative touches making it feel more like staying in somebody's home rather than an anonymous B&B, my daughter and I couldn't have hoped for more.

And then there are Jeff and his family - warm, welcoming and endlessly helpful.

All in all, the perfect stay and ridiculously good value for money.

If you're looking for a hotel in a central location, lovely owners and amazing food .... then this is it!  From the minute we arrived, to the minute we left, Jeff the owner was so friendly and chatty and made us feel totally at home.  His wife Steff is also lovely and their daughter Tamyra who does the cooking is a star.  There is a real feeling of teamwork in the hotel and a nice relaxed atmosphere.  The bedroom was beautifully decorated with complimentary bottles of water, sweets, biscuits and toiletries and there is also the option to purchase extra toiletries if needed.  Bathrobes are also standard which is a lovely touch.  The hotel is located only yards from the busy main street where you will find plenty restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops and amusements.  There was a bit of noise at night from the entertainment in the hotel next door but this did not bother us at all and was only heard because of having the windows open.  So, all in all, highly recommend this place.  If we're ever down that way again, we will certainly be heading back here ( if you've not retired by then guys!! ).  Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

Can't recommend too highly ...

First Class!

If piss like gravy is what your after this is the place for you! Carvery? Roasts parsnips, roast potatoes, no mash?? What’s that all about? Carrots like chewed up by a dog! It’s only half a carvery! Scalby Mannor beats you hands down! 
But I must say we come regular for the parmos and yorkshire pud rap! And there fantastic best around here! 
Terrible carvery should be re named to half carvery!!
