The Panmure Arms Hotel

This is our 2nd visit! 
We stayed in a lovely room with 4 poster bed. Bed comfy, room clean, staff welcoming. 
Evening meal and breakfast cooked to order, good choice on menu. Cooked fresh to order, Enjoyed our meals.
Staff polite and checked in with you during meals and stay to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
Some lovely local walks! Try the blue bridge walk.
Lovely hotel , we will be staying again on our next return to Scotland.

As always, a lovely stay. Alison was helpful and accommodating- allowing me to enjoy my lovely room and delivering me a delicious wood fired pizza. She also kindly leant me a phone charger overnight as I’d forgotten mine. I felt safe and settled as a solo traveller. Susan on the bar was so friendly and stared her knowledge of the local area, allowing me to explore a little further during my stay. I had a great nights sleep and will return again for sure.

We stayed for four nights at the Panmure and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, with a newly refurbished bathroom. The housekeeping was excellent,with daily  fresh white towels & tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. There was a good choice at breakfast, served by friendly, efficient staff- service with a smile, nothing was too much trouble.  We enjoyed an excellent two course evening meal on our first night, with a lovely bottle of Merlot, for a very reasonable £64.70. We also shared a freshly made thin crust pizza,one evening which was superb. We felt that the drinks at the bar were also reasonably priced. All the staff were friendly, approachable and very happy to help. My tip would be to contact the hotel directly to get the best B&B price.

Popped in on the off chance they had a room and glad they did. Really friendly welcome by the owner ( I think) and was told we could see the room before booking. Nice bar area and choice of beers as well. The dinner menu was impressive, good value and delicious as was the breakfast with a massive choice as well. Both the lady who served our dinner and the lady at breakfast were so friendly and super efficient. We had a great one night stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel. Thank you so much

The Panmure Arms Hotel was very good. Due to bad weather conditions we booked very last minute. We got a warm welcome. The room was very comfortable - we had an excellent nights sleep.
We had a delicious meal in the bar. Breakfast - full Scottish - was very good & hearty. 
Excellent value.

Fantastic hotel.Staff are friendly and will go out of their way to help you.The food is very good and we ate in the bar area next to the roaring fire.Breakfast is also very good.Great location and easy parking. Beds comfy.Good size rooms with comfy chairs to sit in.We just loved the feeling of the place and will be coming back.

My 3rd visit and weekly stay for work this year and felt compelled to write a review. The hotel is located in a very picturesque little village with spectacular surroundings including the river and glen esk. It is ideally located for anybody interested in fishing, hiking, shooting or golf or just general sightseeing. I have thoroughly enjoyed the latter two during the summer when daylight allowed!
The hotel itself is very honest, not over the top and extremely welcoming from both staff, local users and staying guests. I found the rooms ( three different ones) and social areas to all be extremely clean and well kept with nods to Scottish tradition pleasingly evident throughout.
The food I found to be superb and given the quality of locally sourced ingredients very good value for money. There is a wide range of options for you to choose from on both the breakfast and evening menus.
The best thing about the Panmure though is the service from the staff that work here. The proprietor Dave is seemingly always on hand and together with his staff nothing is too much trouble. I had an instance during summer where my I needed accommodation at very short notice and although it wasn’t straightforward was able to fulfil my request. On a separate occasion a colleague of mine was travelling up from Manchester as wasn’t due to arrive until after 10.30pm. Upon arrival and without being asked Dave had some food prepared from the kitchen which normally stops service at 8pm - this is an example of genuine customer service and just one of the many reasons why I choose to stay here wherever possible.
The Panmure is not perfect but neither am I. It has its minor flaws but they are purely subjective. For example I don’t particularly like the pillows they use, but I’m just fussy about pillows whereas other people won’t be.  I always bring my own anyway whenever I stay away at a hotel so it’s not a problem.
To summarise, if you are in need of accommodation in the edzell area I would wholeheartedly recommend the Panmure Arms

A 3 night weekend stay in this lovely, comfortable hotel in the heart of the village of Edzell. The hotel is very clean, with warm, friendly staff and comfortable rooms, with excellent housekeeping service. Our room was cleaned every morning and fresh towels were provided. Teas & coffee in the room was also replenished. Breakfast was excellent with fantstic service and high quality food. The same could be said of the dinner we enjoyed on our arrival. The cost of our stay was a fair price and good value for money. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. 

Had an outstanding meal today at the Panmure Hotel . I had a lovey rich and creamy macaroni with handmade artisan chips. My father heart fully tucked into the Chicken Maryland which show cased everything that could be deep fried .

The service was excellent even though it was the  village gala and a function was on . Excellent value for money given the high quality hand hand finished foods that we dined on . 

I am sorry for breaking the window when my antique high back chair which fell onto the individually single glazed window . However it was done in an exquisite environment.

A Great Short Break at a Lovely Village Hotel

Great one night stay

Fantastic cosy hotel with friendly staff,great food and a roaring fire.

Excellent accommodation, service and food together with beautiful surroundings.

A lovely relaxing weekend.

A hidden gem surrounded by history and grandeur.

Stayed here for a single night and what a wonderful place.
From walking through the door to checking out everyone was friendly, warm and welcoming.
We ate an evening meal in the restaurant which has an extensive and full menu.
The meals we had were lovely and can be highly recommended, with the staff being attentive and friendly.
The rooms were comfortable and well equipped with a double bed, which I had a wonderful nights sleep, plus there was also a single bed.
The breakfast is not to be missed, again with wonderful attentive staff and as to be expected great selection of breakfast food and drinks, with and exceptional cooked breakfast.
As I have titled this review it is a little gem.

A Little Gem

I stayed here while working around Edzell recently. Staff were pleasant, room was very clean and well maintained, two single beds in the room which were comfy, good size tv, tea making facilities in room, nice and warm too! Bathroom was good size with a decent shower and decent toiletries. We were leaving early for work and accommodated each morning with a good hot breakfast. Also we were a little late in the evenings but the chef accommodated us by staying late and cooked delicious steak dinners. Thank you!
