Incredible apartment in a great location. We stayed for two nights in the Wordsworth with our toddler and our dog for our first trip to the lakes. Everything was perfect. The living space/kitchen was kitted out with everything we needed as was the bedroom and bathroom. It is clear a lot of care has gone into the refurb of the apartment as it was all beautifully done. We were sad to have to leave and we will definitely be returning when we get the chance!

This is a lovely Inn just a few minutes outside Bowness on Windemere. Our room was spotlessly clean, quite roomy and we had the best view from our light and airy bathroom. It was a pleasure to wake up each morning and go down to breakfast, the food is delicious and the menu had a nice variety of offerings. I can't say enough about the owners, they made us feel like we were their favorite guests! I highly recommend The Fair Rigg and would stay here again!

Booked a five-night stay at Fair Rigg. What a comfortable and relaxing stay we had while staying there. Communication before arriving was excellent. Our hosts Richard and Christine were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. 

We were lucky enough to have room 1 with beautiful views of Bowness and Lake Windemere, from the room and our bathroom, just don't forget to pull those blinds down before taking a bath. The room was comfortable and spacious with some beautiful period features. The bed was very comfortable and I had a very good night's sleep. 

Breakfast was included and was scrumptious with plenty of choices on the menu freshly cooked to order and we had the table by the large bay window with an excellent view while we ate breakfast. 

Fair Rigg situated near Bowness just a 15-minute walk to the lake and all amenities. There is on-site parking for your vehicle. It is within easy reach of all of Lake Windemere's attractions and activities.

Very enjoyable 5-night stay which we enjoyed immensely and were made to feel at home by our hosts. A great place to explore and enjoy everything the area has to offer

What an amazing place! You must come and stay here, if you can get booked in.

The owners have gone out of their way to make the whole experience memorable.  Not only are the rooms immaculate, but they are very well priced and come with breakfast too.
Nothing was too much and they catered for our early check in, minor dietary requirements but were always on hand to offer advice/guidance for the local area.

The view from the front bedrooms is stunning and overlook the lake.
It’s a small walk into town via a pathway and yes, there is a small (about 5m) that isn’t paved but you can take a short cut down Smithy road which is unlit (bring a head torch!) but this allows for some amazing views of the starry skies if you are lucky enough to get the weather.

We will absolutely be returning without question and so thank you to the hosts!

We are actually still here at Fair Rigg and what a wonderful place they run here.  Richard and Christine are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble.  The room is spacious, exceptionally clean with a large en-suite and huge shower.  The whole place looks like it’s “cared for” and well looked  after.  Breakfast is as good if not better than a 4* hotel in London and there is even an honesty bar should you wish to have a late night tipple or a midnight feast.  The best thing is that it is a COVID safe guest house and you are encouraged to wear masks and used hand gel as and when, which is important.   The great location is a plus and the friendly service goes a long way.  Thank you!

Great stay at Fair Rigg guest house. Loved every minute. Christine and Richard were amazing throughout our stay. Breakfast both mornings was delicious with plenty of choice for all tastes. The guest house is a short 10-15 minute walk into Bowness. Can’t wait to return soon!

Beautiful B&B just a short 15 minute walk to the centre of Bowness with incredible views of Windermere from our room (no. 5). Breakfast was plentiful and cooked perfectly. Both hosts were really friendly and made us feel comfortable during our stay. Lots of nice walks nearby. Would definitely stay here should we return to the area! 100% COVID safe also.

Stayed for three nights, received a wonderful, warm welcome! Superb facilities and breakfast. Would stay again and highly recommend. All COVID guidelines adhered to. Although on a busy junction during the day, very quiet in the evening. Within walking distance of town centre.

We stayed at Fair Rigg for three nights 4th  to 7thSeptember great location 3min drive or 15min walk to Lakeside and Steamers  Excellent hosts Richard and Christine the rooms were spotless and provided everything you may need. I must agree with other reviews the breakfast choice was amazing and to finish off with Christine's homemade bread and jams was an extra treat. Stayed here for two nights and had a very pleasant, comfortable and Covid-safe stay. Fantastic location if you don't mind a short 15-20 min walk to the lake and Bowness town. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The guest house is well maintained and equipped with plenty of tourist information, games, DVDs etc. Lovely breakfast with great vegetarian and vegan options. Richard and Christine were very friendly and hospital hosts who offered great recommendations for places to visit in town. 100% recommend and would definitely visit again!

Relaxing Two Night Stay

Great position

Fantastic place, great location

Prior to booking, we read all the reviews on the Fair Rigg and opted to stay because of the amount of positive comments. We booked a two night stay and was really looking forward to it as we were going to be boating on Lake Windermere while there .
We needed to find somewhere to store our boat whilst visiting and to say Richard and Christine were helpful would definitely not being doing them justice. The communication and helpfulness was incredible. 
The Fair Rigg is immaculately clean and well maintained and the rooms are excellent  with everything you need. 
Now let's talk about the breakfast...the reviews on breakfast were too good to be believed...believe them. The breakfast is excellent, with variety many hotels would struggle to match.
The service is attentive and entertaining and timed to perfection. 
It's the little touches around the house that make it measurable with the best for us. Walking sticks, brollys and more information than you'll need with local attraction information, books and DVD's etc. are just some of the detail provided.
Will we be back......without a doubt !

Short Break

My husband and I just got back from here today we stayed 3 nights what a lovely guest house this is it is spotless clean and Richard and Christine were lovely hosts.
The breakfast was lovely especially the homemade Granola.Was only 10/15 minutes walk into town centre too.We will Definetly return if we back to Bowness again.
