Comfy beds clean don’t visit Birmingham much so don’t know much about location lots of shops around staff very helpful free parking booked 2 single beds an got 3 double beds big thumbs up rooms came with tv fridge an a big private shower would recommend

Great budget stay

We booked to stay here rather than do a 3 hour drive home after a concert at the NEC.  £25 for a double room with bathroom is pretty amazing value in my book, so I was not expecting a palace.  What we got was a decent enough room with tv and tea and coffee making facilites (all of which worked perfectly).  If you are sharing a room though, be aware that the two rooms we had, both had ensuite bathrooms with half frosted glass doors, so you could sort of see the other person in the bathroom...offputting if you don't know them too well, or even if you do!  If I was going to a concert again, or just needed a cheap place to stay in Birmingham I would stay here again

Value for money - a bed for the night

Booked through booking for the price I paid very underwhelmed. Rooms were good sized but beds very uncomfortable. The hotel had a sketchy vibe about it. Staff were helpful and there's free parking but I won't be returning or recommending.  It seems very run down and needs updating I wouldn't mind if the price reflected the stay but I felt I paid an awful lot for a very poor standard hotel.

Recent stay

I am writing this review of the Hagley Lodge (or as Booking.com calls it the Hagley Hotel) at 02.00 am as it is impossible for me to sleep in the room at the Hagley Hotel in Birmingham; why is sleep unattainable in this room well it is the very loud noise being emitted from the boiler room directly outside the room; like trying to sleep next to three washing machines constantly running at high-speed spin cycle.

Yes, this is a budget room, however surely when you pay for a room in a hotel you should be able to sleep yet here all you hear is the unbearable constant drone of a heating system.

I requested a room move which was not possible due to the ‘hotel being full.’

The room itself was ok, lack a chair to sit on, the en suite bathroom lacked a door however the bed was wonderfully comfortable, the Wi-Fi worked well, and the room was clean and tidy.

However, when you cannot sleep due to noise the room could be like the London Ritz, but you would still not get what you are paying for sleep.

The noise, the lack of customer service means that I cannot recommend this hotel.
I have request on three occasion for the management of the hotel to contact me regarding this stay and they have failed to answer my request.

AVOID even if they have the last room available for 100 miles…

Stayed here for one night and never again.
The whole place was boiling hot, stains on the bed.
The window in our room were all smashed
As we was trying to sleep we had a loud buzzing sound repeating itself every few minutes and also the residents who was lodging there decided to hoover at 3  in the morning as well as having them have conversations on the landing.
Then we had about 3 staff members within the space of 20 minutes tell us the check out time full on banging on the door

Where do i start!

A last minute booking and I was not hoping for the Hilton but I really did not expect it to be such a hole.  Shabby entrance surrounded by rubbish dumped everywhere. Dirty shabby communal hall and reception, then the room - god help me, I considered just leaving then and there but as it was 1am I had no choice. One old energy light hanging no lampshade, no bedside lamps, no working tv, batteries in remote discharging acid, toilet seat hanging off, room filthy and felt dirty.  2 old opened Tbags in a saucer. Carpet torn and stained all over. Bedding and towels seemed clean enough. All pillows filled with torn foam rubber, felt awful. Noise, noise noise, poor neighbours, I even heard a polite fart in the next room, sounded like it was in the next bed.  This business should not be still running, someone needs to get on the case here. It is a total shabby disgrace and feels like a health hazard. THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE CLOSED IMMEDIATELY! Will battle bookings.com for a refund. A commendation to the gentleman on reception, heart of gold in a hell hole bless him.

HEALTH HAZARD HOTEL, THE BIGGEST DUMP I HAVE EVER BEEN RIPPED OFF IN!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This would be one of the worse hotel experiences we have had all over the world. The staff were just rude and very very unkind. The actual hotel should be thoroughly inspected by health and safety. I have not seen such filth. Customer Beware beware beware. I was scared of catching something. Even the curtain rods had been screwed up with poor workmanship. Thankfully only stayed one night for event nearby. Staff here very rude, tried to put us in smaller room than we had booked and then charge more to move us! Resulted in us having to call laterooms to complain and a very sheepish receptionist then backing down. The communal areas, reception, stairways, corridor etc are all filthy with empty lager cans strewn everywhere and the place stinks of marijuana. 
The rooms are no better and the bathroom absolutely disgusting. 
I would not stay here again if it was the cheapest rate on earth and I am not one to find fault.
Unfortunately my friend left something in the room after we checked out, when we returned 30 mins later we were told the room was empty, be warned!! 

Do not stay here!

Upon arrival I was really worried about my car having to stay there! 
We walked in and it was like someone out of the hostel film awful two young females staying there not safe at all all sorts of strange crack head people in there. The best part of it was that when we came bk after night out the guy on reception was funny about us taking someone else up to our room. 2 hours later the police known our room we were thrown out of our room shocking 

Most awful place I've ever stayed

Avoid this place!!!
We checked in and was shown a room in the next building...it was filthy, smelt of damp and the bathroom floor was falling through. 
We then went back to reception to demand a change of room or a refund..the receptionist was not helpful however she gave us a room in the main building which was no better.
Room was horrible, dirty remote, filthy nettings and curtain. Bathroom was not fit for purpose. No lamp!!!
Would never choose this place again or recommend it....KEEP AWAY!!!
THIS PLACE NEEDS CLOSING DOWN ASAP!!!!
