The Birdham

I stayed at the Birdham in late January 2025. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was particularly good - excellent menu, good cooked options, and delicious. I used the restaurant and bar on one evening, which again was excellent - good choices, delicious food, and a good atmosphere, it was used both by locals, and for business meetings. I would recommend the Birdham to anyone looking to stay in Bembridge or the Isle of Wight.

Thanks to Anthony and the whole team for looking after us in our recent stay. Great base for exploring the island with good food and a roaring fire to come back to.

The hotel was a good location for us as a base. 2 minutes drive down to the beach and lifeboat station or about 15/20 minutes walk. Nice to walk along the beach path in the evening. Local convenience store on the way. Evening meal was lovely and the breakfast choice and quality was superb. Nice bar and restaurant area with lovely ambiance in the evening. Stayed midweek and was very peaceful at night. Friendly welcome and all staff were lovely and gave good service. Car park is big enough even though it gets busy with restaurant bookings. Had a slightly smaller room which could do without the wardrobes being in it to give more space and room for a couple of easy chairs but the bathroom was generous. Nice touch with the travel toiletries.

If you come to the isle of wight for what ever reason this is your place, the staff are beyond friendly and the breakfast is world class, the room is clean and homely, it is the perfect home away from home

Staff were extremely helpful and attentive.  Certain areas of property are tired but room was comfortable and well appointed

A two day trip visiting friends. loved our stay here. Very friendly welcome and very impressed with the superior room we booked. Very clean and bright and generally in good condition. Breakfast cooked to order and was excellent and very friendly staff throughout. We ate in the bar one evening and once again the food was well priced and excellent.Would not hesitate to stay again. Good location also for the local village and a walk to the beach.

Great food, Comfy bed, Staff excellent.Upon check in the guy was so busy but he didnt let his excellent customer service slip once, he stayed polite and friendly at all times, credit to him. I visit the island every 6 weeks for work and this has been the best value by far that i have expeianced. I will definately go back

All staff friendly and welcoming. Spotless room. Excellent choice of breakfasts cooked to order.   We ate in the hotel each evening and the food and service were excellent. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend and we will go back to the Birdham on our next visit to IOW.

Lovely peaceful stay

Great find.

We had a great 3-night stay at The Birdham. It's a mix of the personal touch of a B&B with the facilities of a quality hotel. The staff are very focused on customer service, right from the welcome by Anthony to the lady who made up our room. It's an old building so we didn't expect all mod cons, but the room was well equipped and in the large bathroom the shower was adequate and water was always hot. We ate in the hotel everynight and the food was excellent and served with a smile. Parking was easy in the dedicated car park. We had an early check out and were offered a breakfast bag, which was an indication of how the Birdham goes the extra mile.

Comfy bed and pillows and a good shower  with complimentary toiletries.Good breakfast which was let down by the hotel serving squash instead of real juice which was disappointing Really helpful waitress at breakfast,  unfortunately we didn't catch her name. We didn't have dinner but the bar was busy Overall a lovely short break

Good choice for a short break

We stayed at The Birdham for three nights in March 2024 and received a lovely warm welcome from Anthony when we arrived. We were made to feel welcome by all the staff including the bar and restaurant staff who were warm and friendly and very efficient.We ate in the hotel for all three nights and the food was generally of a good quality with generous portions.There is a good choice of hot dishes at breakfast - all cooked fresh to order, as well as cereals, yogurts, juice etc. Our deluxe room was comfortable and quiet with lovely, soft bedding and we had a lovely, large bathroom with huge, soft towels.We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.

Stayed here with colleagues while over on a work trip as recommended by local team members. In a snap the hotel felt a little bland but forget that as the food was amazing, the service brilliant and the rooms although feeling old style were amazingly comfortable with loads of great little touches. Would highly recommend staying there

Iow trip

Good experience with very friendly and helpful staff who were a credit to the establishment. Rooms maybe a little dated for some but not a problem for us..Food excellent with one exception. We ate in all 4 nights. Only problem was the Friday night when a steak frankly was as tough as old boot.Should have sent it back. Also when one asks for one poached egg one means one not two. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly come again.

Our stay was first class, the bedroom was comfortable and very clean with everything you need. The staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the regulars. The breakfast menu was really good and it was difficult to choose what to have as there was so many lovely choices. We also had dinner on our last evening and the food was superb, thank you to the chef and all of the staff.
