East House

East House is a lovely old property.  We had a large room with a great view across farm fields (there were cows!), and the sea, you could also see Dunstanburgh castle in the distance. The host was really welcoming and friendly. Despite what it says in the description the beds are fully made up and there is a good supply of towels in the bathroom so you don’t need to bring sheets etc. nice touches in the room included a kettle, coffee, fresh milk, cereals, biscuits, shampoo, hair conditioner, soap etc. There is also a small fridge on the landing where you can store drinks and snacks. Definitely recommend this place, intend to stay again.

Really enjoyable two night stay. Wonderful welcome and the best single room I have ever stayed in. Beautiful location, great for visiting Beadnell, Seahouses and Bamburgh, but quiet and relaxing

Fifth visit to East House, spacious family room with two comfy chairs. Very peaceful, close to Beadnell beaches and lovely restaurants.  Fridge on landing with milk for cereals and drinks.  Mixed cereals on top of fridge to help yourself to for breakfast. Tea, coffee and biscuits in room. Shower over bath   Vanessa is a lovely hostess.

Very pleasant stay at East House this weekend. Needed a base locally for a wedding in Ellingham and East House was ideal. Very comfortable stay with off-street parking. Would happily recommend and stay again.

Very friendly b&b, quiet comfortable room, very flexible breakfast set up (cereal and milk in a fridge provided that you can help yourself to at any time). Very well placed for exploring northumberland and close to the beach at Beadnell. Would definitely stay there again

Lovely place to stqy. The lady who ran the Bed and Breakfast was so friendly. I would go there again next time I visit.

Excellent place just outside Beadnell.

Another enjoyable visit.

I often struggle to find single room options, but East House came up trumps. Not only did it provide comfortable affordable accommodation for a solo traveller (plus dog), but I had lots of private space. The private foyer to the room provided the perfect space for a dog bed. We were made very welcome and really enjoyed our stay

Great single room

This met our requirements as a base to explore the area.For the price it is very good value.Will likely stay here again.Found the bed to be too soft.As a light sleeper I found the road a little noisy with early morning traffic.Generally I would rate this as very good and would have rated as excellent but for the two minor points above. (Which are a personal thing).As said previously, we will stay again if in the area.

East House, Chathill.

Vanessa was very friendly, she met us and explained their Covid rules before entering. We had a double room at the front with lovely countryside views. Very comfy bed and nicely decorated room. Tea and coffee in the cupboard with chocolate biscuits a nice touch (although we forgot to eat them) and a fridge on the landing containing plenty of milk with 3 different cereals on top. Not perfect condition but for what you pay it's well worth it. 1.5 miles from Beadnell, and 3 from Seahouses, it's a good base to walk from or get the bus nearby into local towns. Lots of places within about half an hour's drive too.

Well priced, comfy and good location

A hidden gem of a B&B.  Welcoming and friendly host, comfortable bed, perfect location.  I booked a single and ended up with effectively a suite to myself containing a bedroom, landing, and bathroom.  A range of cereals for breakfast and milk in the fridge on the landing.  There is ample off street parking and you are within easy reach of so much of beautiful Northumberland.  The establishment is also very covid conscious, which made me feel safe.  Highly recommended.

Home from home

Vanessa was very welcoming and helpful.  We had a nice room with shower room.  The shower was fantastic - very good pressure.  Breakfast was cereal which you could help yourself to, which is not like a usual b&b but actually worked very well for us, it meant we did not overeat and we did not have to get up at a particular time especially during these Covid times, when places are spreading people out, so you're on holiday but you have to be at breakfast at 8.00.  So this worked well.  Plenty of tea and coffee in your room with Penguin biscuits (yum).

We really enjoyed our stay here

Booked for 6 nights, wished we could have stayed longer. Room very comfortable with great views. We stayed in the family room which was spacious, clean and comfortable. The host, Vanessa, was extremely friendly and chatty, without being in any way intrusive. If you are looking for a bland corporate hotel then this is not for you. However, if you are looking for something that has rural comfort, then get booked in.

Interesting Place to Stay

Although a bit of a yomp to the nearest village, this would be ideal for someone with a car who likes out of the way places. I awoke to cows and sheep and bird song.  My single room was basic, but clean and comfortable and the house itself is steeped in character.  The proprietress doesn't provide breakfast per se, but I had my own little fridge with cold milk and a selection of cereals. All in all a rather quirky place but exceptional value for money.

Perfect location

A clean comfortable guesthouse in a peaceful location in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  What's not to love? Vanessa is a friendly and helpful host.  We were cycling for our three day break and this was an excellent base to do it from.  The Guest House is a large farmhouse, the rooms are large and comfortable.  Guests can come and go as they please. We had no issues at all and had a great break.
