I booked a stay here for a diving trip leaving from the harbour.
The hotel is in a great location,just a few minutes from ilfracombe town centre.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, breakfast was cooked well and generously portioned.
The hosts were welcoming and very helpful.
I will be staying here again in a couple of weeks and would recommend a stay here.

Had a lovely time.  Friendly hosts, comfortable rooms, good location, tasty breakfasts. Free parking and WiFi.  A little gem with everything near by.  My wife and 2 boys enjoyed their stay. Can't wait to come down again.  

As a solo cycle tourist completing the Devon Coast to Coast from Plymouth, Wentworth House provided a very warm welcome and spacious accommodation. The rooms are spotlessly clean, all mod cons (eg USB charging points) are available, a plentiful supply of tea/coffee provided and a good choice and large breakfast sets you up for the day. Bicycles can be locked up safely in a garage and Wentworth House is situated on the Sustrans route just on the outskirts of Ilfracombe, so you can drop off your gear and cycle down to the harbour unladen, or walk down as I did. Sharon is the perfect host and nothing was too much trouble. Would I stay here again? Yes!

Called late around 10.30pm in a bit of a predicament with nowhere to stay, sharon was so accommodating, offering us her last room and making up another bed for us to stay. Nice place to stay within walking distance from the town centre, with a nice cooked breakfast to finish our stay. Thanks again for all your help.

Friendly welcome, clean, spacious, good breakfast, attentive, very reasonably priced, good location and easy parking. Lost weight being on the fourth floor, as no lift, but helped work off the breakfast!  Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic first stay in Ilfracombe. Sharon is a superb host going that extra bit further to make for a memorable stay. All we ever want in a hotel is cleanliness, parking and not too far to walk to the centre. It had all of these. Our room was a very traditional B &B bedroom and very comfortable. The breakfast was good and I really liked the sausages which ever make they were. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was good. As we had lovely weather we kept the window open at night and the only noise we could hear in the morning was the sea gulls-it is a seaside town. The walk from the harbour took about 12-15 minutes and there is a hill but it’s a short steep one just before you get to the hotel so it’s fine. We loved our first visit to Ilfracombe so we plan to visit again and we will try and get a room at Wentworth House.

A few minutes walk from the High Street, I had a very pleasant stay here. I liked the location as it was quiet, had the big advantage of off-street parking and I woke up with a view of the nearby hills. The owners were very friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay again if I was in the area. 

After a torturous 5 hour journey we arrived to be greeted with a smile by our hosts. We were shown to our room, number 3, in this large, stately, Victorian built home.The room was large, family sized with double and twin beds and with 12 foot ceilings to give the feeling of spaciousness. There is a large bathroom too with a flexi hose shower over a bathtub. The shower was very powerful with plenty of hot water. The bed was of a firm hold and very comfortable. There is also a fridge that was an exceedingly nice touch. There is a car park with parking quite easy.

The location is part way up a hill and the High Street; where virtually everything can be bought, is just a couple of minutes walk away. The quayside is a little further but can be done in less than 15 minutes. For the prices they ask this is an excellent location for visiting the surrounding areas and maybe even a day trip to Lundy Island. Will definitely return to this location in future years.

We booked through Expedia but suggest you contact the hotel directly for possibly better rates. Also Expedia allow you to book and pay on arrival at this hotel. Don't be fooled by the wording. Expedia mean they will charge your card on the day you arrive and not that you pay the hotel directly. This was a mistake we made so ended up paying twice. But with a quick phone call back to the hotel the mess was soon sorted out by our genial hosts within minutes. (Thankyou for the quick resolution)

I was very happy with my choice to stay here, a very nice house with lots of character, plus Sharon, a very welcoming host. Rooms are nicely furnished and very clean and retain the character of the house, everything you need is provided, plus lots of nice extra little touches. Bed very comfortable, sleep quality excellent. Nice roomy bath room, water temperature and pressure were perfect. Good sized car park at the back, room for maybe 8 cars.

Walk into the centre of Ilfracombe is only about 10 minutes, and you have an abundance of restaurants to choose from. I liked Ilfracombe a lot, and will surely come back and will definitely stay at Wentworth House again when I do. Highly recommended.

When I left I was surprised to see the owner Sharon, racing towards me in the town centre.  I had left my book in the bedroom and she was concerned I'd have nothing to read on the bus, so decided to track me down in her car.  A very thoughtful and kind gesture, which I really appreciated.

Nothing wrong with this hotel, price is really good considering the location and the people are really nice. The room we had isn’t modern, all singing all dancing, but  it was perfectly adequate in terms of being clean and tidy. Loads of space in the family room. 
The sleep was really relaxing and the breakfast in the morning was enjoyable.
Overall very good value and I’ll be going back.

Booked this last minute and glad we did. My son and myself had s huge room with three beds, tea and coffee making facilities and a large bathroom. The hosts were very nice , friendly and attentive.
The breakfast was well cooked and will certainly fill you up. I am very glad to find a reasonably priced  well run b and  b that I will use again.

Quick surf trip

This is a quite old property with bags of character, just like Geoff and Sharon, the owners. From our rather strange arrival at after 8pm, we were treated like a part of the family and our young grandchildren (5, 4 and 5 months) were sad to have to leave after only five days, but Daddy has to get back to work!
Although a little difficult to find, even my ancient almost clockwork satnav got us there and led us to the ample parking. The rooms were all really comfortable with loads of space and good en-suite facilities. I managed to stay in touch with the rest of the family not with us through the free WiFi and uploaded all photos and videos taken of the very beautiful Ilfracombe.
Wentworth House is in a quiet part of the outskirts of town, but within five minutes walk of all the major attractions, including the harbour and High Street.
I would recommend, when booking, to add in the breakfasts (which I forgot, but Sharon allowed us to add in) as they are second-to-none.
All-in-all a dream of a holiday for all of our party.
