Lovely overnight stay in Woolacombe whilst walking the Southwest Coast Path. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Bedroom was comfortable and spotlessly clean. A bit nervous to see earplugs provided but we weren’t bothered by noise at all. Lovely breakfast room and tasty breakfast.

We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed our stay. We were on a walking holiday exploring the South West Coastal Path. Our room was comfortable with contemporary decor and a nice modern bathroom. Breakfasts were excellent. Andy and Jo were very helpful during our stay.

This is truly a compact and bijou facility which lacks non of the comfort or facilities you need because of it.  With a sustainable approach to running their business Jo and Andy are thoughtful proprietors.  The rooms were immaculately clean and  appointed to a high standard, breakfast was tasty and we were provided with chilled fresh milk in a flask in our room.  The large shower-head provided hot water of a good pressure - fantastic after our long, strenuous coastal walk.  Adherence to COVID regulations was strict.  The only niggle was noise from the street, but ear-plugs were provided, and all was quiet by 10.30.

We had a warm welcome and enjoyed our stay. The room & en-suite was really clean & comfortable. Impressed with measures to avoid using single use plastics. Location couldn’t be better for getting to the beach & surrounding town. The breakfast was lovely.  No complaints- would recommend.

Excellent location, 2 minutes walk from the beach! Permit provided for very nearby parking! Rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. As a light sleeper I was very grateful for the ear plugs in the room (excellent location also means can be a little noisy from inconsiderate tourists!!) Breakfast was excellent and both Andy and Jo very helpful! Highly recommend! 

We stayed at Marine House for two nights recently on our 10 night staycation in Devon and Dorset.

Jo and Andy and excellent, laid back hosts and nothing was too much trouble. There are just two rooms which are small but perfectly formed. Spotlessly clean with everything you would need.

It’s tucked away and Jo will provide you with on-Street parking permits for the duration of your stay which are included in the room rate, as is an extremely hearty cooked breakfast each morning (to pre-order the night before). The street is quite noisy. Woolacombe is a small place and there are many service deliveries to the various businesses which start at first light. It didn’t overly bother us but earplugs are provided if needed.

We booked Woolacombe to enjoy the fabulous coastal walk from here to Ilfracombe and I can honestly say that this was my favourite day out of our entire 10 night holiday. It is truly spectacular.

I would return, if only to enjoy the walk again, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book Marine House again.

Just got back from a lovely two night stay at the Marine House Woolacombe. Having never visited Woolacombe before, Andy and Jo (the hosts) were extremely helpful in helping us plan our days and had some great advice as to how to get the most out of our short trip. Each morning we enjoyed a quiet and delicious home made breakfast by Andy, which ranged from a full English to smoked salmon and eggs. Our rooms were immaculate, the beds very comfortable and plenty of tea and coffee to enjoy. Nothing seemed too much for the hosts and we are already looking at arranging a second stay at Marine House.

Just back from a 4 night stay at Marine house. Jo and Andy met us and first thing they did was take us through all social distancing measures, very much appreciated and put us at ease.
The decor in the B&B is modern classic, thankfully no chintz in sight but little nods to Woolacombe and surfing. Jo runs the artisan gift shop opposite and knows her stuff. 
The bedroom and en-suite both modern and spotless. Lots of fluffy white towels and crisp linen. 
Breakfast was of the same quality, very tasty and plentiful. The coffee was delicious. 
There’s no parking but we we’re provided with on street permits for the whole stay. 
We can’t recommend Marine house more and we’d be very happy to return. 



My boyfriend and I stopped here for a few nights recently and have no complaints! The decor was stylish and fitting for the seaside, the hosts were very friendly and helpful and the location couldn’t be better! There were hand sanitiser stations as well as everything being sparkling clean so I felt very safe staying there during current circumstances :) would happily stay here again

Great value B and B, close to the beach and in the centre of town. Our room was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and with a modern ensuite. Would recommend the breakfast as it was one of the best we've had at a B and B. Andy and Jo were great hosts, very friendly and with lots of helpful and interesting local knowledge. Would highly recommend.

Seaside comfort

Lady we spoke to was really welcoming 
Gentlemen was patronising until I mention I worked in a b&b to which his attitude changed. For the rest of the stay he was really friendly and joking around with us. He gave us a few slices of bacon to go crabbing with too, which was greatly appreciated!

Breakfast was good, lots of options including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Hot drinks and juice were available! Standard of the food was amazing and tasty. There was a variety of cereals on offer as well.

COVID precautions are excellent, we felt very safe on our stay and not at risk at all. 

Parking is on a street and you are providing a permit-no space garentteed and parking can be awkward as it is a residential area with very tight spaces only small cars can get into

AMAZING NO SINGLE USE PLASTICS even down to the bin bag! 
 
Not surfer friendly as you weren’t allowed to take in wetsuits or boards. 
Overall, it’s a lovely place to stay and we would definitely return!
I do feel it was slightly overpriced but we did come in August and I do appreciated this is the main season.

Great find in Woolacombe 

Excellent addition to our holiday

..stayed here on our 7 day SW Coastal path walk. By far the most expensive property during the week but a nice/ informative greeting on arrival. Room small but cosy - acknowledging end of a long summer, could have done with a spring clean (v dusty blind, light fittings and mirror), v rusty radiator in bathroom and towels harsh. But, the breakfast was the stand out feature and saved the day. Slept well with the earplugs provided.

Stayed for a weekend break, and this is the ideal location as it’s pretty central to all local bars, pubs, beach and other amenities. 

It’s a small B&B with two rooms i think, but the room we were in was well decorated with tea and coffee making facilities and spotlessly clean.

..take the breakfast if you can: cooked to order and served piping hot, which was really tasty. 

Andy and Jo offered a great welcome, and offered loads of local advice on the best walks to do. 

I would definitely stay again.
