Epchris House

I loved it here! I was only here for two nights but was SO tempted to book in for the week. The breakfast hampers were a really nice touch and I was lucky enough to have good weather on my first morning so got to eat on the terrace. The terrace was gorgeous- I met another guest when I arrived the previous afternoon who said she couldn't believe how beautiful the whole place was and she just wanted to sit out there all day- I felt the same. Sadly, we both had busy weekends so didn't get to do that!- I also didn't get to sample the cake for afternoon tea or the honesty bar, but certainly would have done both those things if I'd stayed longer (the cake looked lovely). It's a short walk down the hill to town - my only slight reservation is I hadn't been to that area of town for some years and had forgotten how dark Torrs Park gets at night, probably best to get a taxi if walking alone, although I'm sure it's very safe (also I'd forgotten how hilly Ilfracombe is, but you get used to it quickly!). I would love to stay again. Thank you to Cath for being such a great host- hope you get a good well deserved rest over the winter!
