Village Inn

Stayed here one night on our last day of walking the Loch Lomond and Cowal Way. It was a very long and wet day and we were very glad to get out of our wet clothes and boots and into the powerful,. hot shower. The rooms were nice, spotless and effort ha obviously been made in refurbishing them within recent times. After the shower we headed for the bar to celebrate the end of the walk with a couple of pints of foaming ale. The bar was surprisingly busy for the early(ish) hour but the atmosphere was good. From there we repaired to the restaurant which again was busy, but the service was speedy and efficient. We all had fish and chips which was a generous portion and well cooked, Breakfast was also good and we appreciated the very nice that my walking buddy's partner who was to collect us from Arrochar for the homeward journey, asked to stay overnight with her rather than drive up early the following morning. The management allowed this even though it hadn't originally been booked for him - and didn't charge any more for the room or the extra breakfast. Very generous, especially given the challenges currently being faced by the hospitality sector. All in all, a good stay and would happily return.
