Amazing stay. Historic house set in beautiful grounds. Amazing that they allow dogs also in such a nice place. Fantastic sand beaches right next to the hotel. Service was excellent, really enjoyed my stay and would stay again. Breakfast was delicious…. Best hotel breakfast I’ve had. An EV car charging point would make this hotel even better as there’s hardly any around in the area and would be great for over night guests to charge whilst there.

The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was warm and comfortable. Breakfast facilities were spot on and the cooked breakfast was top notch. A very enjoyable stay.

Wow! Where to start..?  What a stunning place to stay!  I wish we had stayed longer!  The welcome was lovely our room was amazing!  Absolutely beautiful.  Breakfast was so good, typically Scottish & a real treat!We went to the sea at Lunan Bay which is literally a 5min drive past the property - this area was gorgeous.  Huge sand dunes but a beautiful stretch of beach, peaceful and calm.  We will definitely be back! Highly recommended. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Nice area close to the beach.  The breakfast provided was awesome.  Towels, sheets, and pillows were clean.  Beds were comfortable. The only complaint I had was that there was a smell in the room  possibly from cleaners, we had to leave the window open.  The fan in the bathroom didn't work. We were in the wing section not the main hotel.

Stunning place to stay!

We really loved our time at Lunan House. It’s steeped in history and the staff will happily share what they know. The grounds/ gardens are beautiful. The beach with caves and castle ruins is a few minutes walk away. It was a lovely place to recharge in the middle of our trip. Breakfast was great but dinner options were more limited.

Management at breakfast left a lot to be desired. When we arrived, no one was there to greet us. The only staff member was engaged in a heated conversation with another guest.There was no milk for the cereal. No spoons either! Coffee pot had run out. Family sized kettle was supplying a dining room of about 20 people. Bread was in short supply.Basically under staffed. One staff member taking orders, serving food and clearing tables.

The house and ground are lovely and very close to the beach. Food was very good for the price, and overall very happy with my stay. The room looked a little tired, and the wet room floor wasn't clean. Drain was also backing up and flooding the floor whilst showering. Overall location excellent and good value for money.

Lovely stay. Some maintenance needed...

This place is a hidden gem! I have been staying at budget accommodations, trying to keep it around $100 CAD per night, including breakfast. With that in mind, this place is an incredible value. The building has character and is a bit quirky. The room was very spacious, and the bathroom was renovated. The grounds are beautiful, and it is very close to Lunan Beach. The Scottish breakfast was outstanding and very filling. The people who work here are incredibly friendly and helpful. I can’t believe this place isn’t packed!

Good location for sightseeing up the east coast. We had disability room which was adequate but on the small side. I moved the open wardrobe, (which was easy) to allow my husbands small boot scooter access to the room. On information sheet it said to put hanger on door if wanted room serviced which would be fresh towels and bins emptied. We did this after 2nd night. Got fresh towels but bins were not emptied. Bar restaurant next to main building limited bar menu but what we had was good. Confusion at breakfast whether it had been paid or was included, girl had to ask which I felt not fair on her, they need to sort their system. My husband had full cooked breakfast which he enjoyed. The walks on Lunan bay beach (2 mins away )were delightful such a beautiful clean beach. Staff excellent very pleasant and helpful.

Lovely old previous farm by the beach. Rooms basic but fully functional and great value for money. Breakfast plentiful and delicious. Very quiet but view from room spoiled by looking at the bins!
