Very well manured and gentle staff.recommemded

We loved this hotel, it looked fairly unassuming from the outside but there was plenty of secure parking beautifully decorated interior and an amazing breakfast. The service was 5 star. The Mayfair situated in a wonderful location, perfect for Shanklin Esplande. We could not fault it and we will definitely recommend.

Excellent hotel.
We found the family running the hotel very welcoming and very pleasant. Which is just what you need to begin a nice relaxing break. Nothing was too much bother for them.
The room we booked had fantastic uninterrupted sea views from two large windows. It was very clean, had a very comfortable bed, the bathroom was a fair size with a very powerful shower. 
Short walk from transport connections and regular bus services to Godshill, Ventnor, Newport etc if you did want to venture out of Shanklin for a few hours but saying that, we found Shanklin esplanade to have excellent places to eat and relax plus good shops and pubs in the main town. All in all  a fantastic break and could not have asked for better weather either resulting in a very memorable time and for all the right reasons!
We will definitely be returning.

The Mayfair is lovely family run hotel. The hotel itself is very clean and welcoming. Our sea view room was very good and it had everything we needed including a very comfortable bed. We were made very welcome by all the staff. Lovely breakfast with lots of choice for everyone. All in all a great place to stay. We thoroughly  enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

Stayed here about 7 years ago. Walls damp, room no lock, bogeys on the pillow, chips under the bed, watch got nicked, bar closed and a strange bloke came in my room at night and left a cake. 5 Stars👍🏼

We recently stayed at The Mayfair Hotel in Shanklin and really enjoyed our stay. 

We arrived and the staff were very helpful and hospitable, providing us with an array of maps and information for our trip. 

The room was very clean and spacious, there were amazing views of the bay above Shanklin seafront and we had a nice breakfast each morning while getting ready for the day of long coastal walks ahead. 

Would definitely recommend, and thank you very much to the staff.

This is a simple, budget hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. Comfy bed, towels and toiletries (soap and shampoo) provided. No making your bed or changing the towels during your stay. Kettle provided with some tea, coffee, milk and mugs. If you want more than a place to lay to head and wash this maybe isn’t for you. But for us it was perfect. 1 minute walk from Shanklin sandy beaches and free onsite parking. Friendly but non intrusive staff.

We could not fault this family run hotel.  It is located a short walk from the beach, with fantastic views across the bay from bedrooms and veranda.  The staff cannot do enough for you and are very respectful, friendly and helpful.  The hotel is very clean, presentable and fantastic views.  We would like to thank Ronak, KC and Pops and our adopted babies !!! for making our stay so great.

I booked a last min mini brake for me and the 2 children (6 and 11) post covid 19 - for a first time on the isle of wight, the hotel was very easy to find and there was a good size carpark . The hotel looked very tidy on the outside with a welcoming appearance...the view from the garden was breathtaking. We were greeted by a member of staff (with full PPE) There were many helpful sign to ask us to ware face masks in the hallways ect and hand sanitiser at the door , inside the hotel smelt very clean and pleasant, with simple Clean decor,  once at the reception I realised i had put the wrong check in time of 12 am not 12pm - oops but the receptionist was amazing and said he would have our room ready for us within the hr and they would send us a text message to let us know out room was ready - we decided to take a walk down to the beach. 30mins later i had a text to say our room was ready, again we were greeted by a member of staff he passed over the key via a plastic sheet (covid safe) our room was on the top floor so many steps ( sadly no lift) but our room was very easy to find! The room looked and smelled very clean, pristine white bedding and plenty of room even though we had a double and twin bed in our room. Decor was warm and inviting, the view was again breathtaking which we all enjoyed, we had touch lamps, and hanging space, We had kettle and plenty of coffee/ tea (happy mum) and milk left on a small worktop along with instructions of check out / their covid safe procedures/ wifi info/ hotel contact via message/whatsapp.... bathroom Was again squeaky clean soft white towels and a step in shower (my youngest enjoyed being able to sit while having a shower) - during our stay we found the hotel very quiet We couldn't hear anyone else in the hotel, we all felt very secure in and out of our room. The beds were very comfortable ( memory foam pillows were amazing for my bad back) 
The hotel is in a perfect location that i didnt need to drive to the local amusements and beach, you do have to walk up/down a steep ish hill but good to tone those legs.
Check out was a breeze we just packed up and popped the key in a slot - overall the hotel was perfect for us, we didnt feel we were all on top of each other and we hardly saw anyone (if we did everyone had masks) 
The hotel offers communal areas within the hotel seating and pool table (we didnt need to use these) again they always looked very inviting with wall curtain lights and cosy seating they always looked very clean. 
Would i return - yes i would it was great value for money!!

After getting a surprise holiday of our daughter didn't know what to expect when we got here our room was very clean and comfortable and basic the staff are lovely and very friendly there is nothing to much trouble for them food was really nice and tasty the views are beautiful its just sad that we have to leave if we are lucky enough to return to the island there is no other hotel we would book

Fantastic experience.

Super break at The Mayfair hotel.

Our Family were in Isle of White on 1st week of September for a few days. We booked this Hotel/Bed and Breakfast.

As soon as we arrived, we were checked in given keys for our rooms. One of Rooms had a fantastic see view, it was lovely, all the rooms were very nicely cleaned and welcoming. 

We found out that it was a family run Hotel/Bed and Breakfast, breakfast was very nice every morning and well attended.

Our Family have enjoyed the stay and certainly will be staying there again if we were to be around the area again in the future.

For the price they offer, its a great value and we recommend this place to be tried once if one has not stayed there before.

This hotel does not deserve its low rating.. The place is spotlessly clean and the management are helpful and eager to please. Even cleaned the seagull mess off my car without being asked. What service!  However tea and coffee is an extra charge at breakfast, not usual, and perhaps should be reviewed. Great position with good access.

I've just returned from my second stay at the Mayfair. I don't understand such low scores as for what you pay I feel this hotel is great. 
The Mayfair is clean, good sized twin room, basic decor but nothing unappealing. Excellent location with beautiful views over Shanklin seafront from the front. 
My only criticism this time was that our twin room faced a back wall of balconies from an adjacent building. As we had a busy activity holiday and the accomodation was good value, this didn't really impact my enjoyment of the holiday too much.
The hotel is lacking in atmosphere somewhat but the covid situation doesn't help that. I personally really appreciated the calm, peace and quiet the hotel offered as opposed to other hotels nearby with drunken Brits abroad and music blaring. ( This was only occasionally and not late into the evening to be fair).
If you want good value, calm,peace and relative quiet, with an excellent location I would recommend this place. I will definitely stay again.
