This place is just perfect.  Parking on site, walking distance into town.
Janet and Stuart are amazing hosts, nothing is too much trouble .  The Guest house is spotlessly clean and the garden kept lovely.  Plenty of options at breakfast, plus wine and cake throughout the day should you so desire.  The rooms are immaculate with tea/coffee/water/biscuits in plentiful supply.  There are also thoughtful extras such as shoe and coat racks outside your bedroom door.
If you stay here you will not be disappointed.

Just arrived for two nights, I don't normally leave a review until I leave but this place is really nice really cosy, the owners make you feel very welcome.
Complementary red wine white wine and homemade cakes.
 and we will definitely be returning. Absolutely a little gem.

The Wordsworth Guest House is the perfect base for exploring Ambleside & surrounding, breathtaking  countryside.
We were made to feel so welcome by  owners Janet & Stuart in their beautiful home & everything  was perfect from our relaxing,comfortable room, facilities  available were excellent, everything  we needed has been carefully  thought through (we stayed in the suite with kitchenette,including sink,  microwave,toaster kettle, fridge,excellent  selection of  beverages,snacks etc).
Excellent en-suite/shower facilities, plenty of hanging/storage  space bath - robes & complimentary  toiletries.
Freshly cooked breakfast in the dining room, overlooking the countryside in the distance was delicious with a great choice. 
 Wine &  perfect  home baked  cakes on arrival & available  through our stay were a lovely  surprise & an added bonus!
A return visit to The Wordsworth  & beautiful  Ambleside is planned & highly  recommended......the perfect  retreat!

Janet gave us a warm and friendly welcome. The guesthouse was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. The breakfasts were outstanding… absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Janet gave us tips on where to eat, where to park for free & discounts on nearby eateries. We had the most enjoyable 4 days and would love to return next year. Thank you Janet. 🥰

Wow! We have just returned from a last minute break in Ambleside and we are so glad we booked Wordsworth Guest House. We were greeted with a warm welcome from Janet and we loved the wine and cake on offer. Our room was spotless and the bed was so comfy. Breakfast was lovely.
Parking is situated around the back of the property.
We will definitely come back and have already told our friends and family about here!

This is our second visit to the 'Wordsworth Guest House' as we were completely blown away with the first visit. Janet (Owner) couldn't have been nicer if she tried, she kept Room 3 for us as this was the room that we stayed in on our last visit and nothing had changed, all round perfection. Once we got unpacked it was down to the patio in the garden were Janet provided us with wine and a selection of home made cakes, the Gingerbread and the Bakewell Slice went down a treat. 

Our breakfasts in the morning were out of this world, there was various cereals, yogurts, fruit juices etc followed by a range of cooked breakfasts which were perfect. Once again we couldn't  thank Janet enough for her kindness and hospitality, we will certainly look to stay there again in the near future and will certainly recommend the Wordsworth to friends and family. Thank you Janet

We stay here on every visit to Ambleside as Janet's hospitality cannot be beaten and neither can her fantastically clean rooms. We stay in the suite which has its own kitchen and living area with seperate TV. There is a microwave and fridge as we prefer to do our own breakfast although we have had Janet's breakfasts in the past and they are supurb.
Janet is very friendly and cooks fresh cakes for you to sample along with a little tipple if you want that too.
Nearby there are some fantastic restaurants including 2 Mitchellin star. We had a lovely meal on this visit in Lucy's on a Plate and we also like Mathew' s Bistro. The Flying Fleece is a nice little pub just around the corner serving a wide range of food and drinks.

Thank you Stuart and Janet for a fabulous stay.  Loverly hosts, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast and parking all in a central location. By far the best guesthouse we have stayed in for many years, and will return.

We had the pleasure of staying for two nights at the Wordsworths and I can fully recommend it. Parking at the rear of the guesthouse we stayed on the 2nd and 3rd of December in room 5. This room had recently been refurbished and had all the amenities you'd need. The ensuite had recently been done and was really very good. Proper Cumbrian breakfast was included and it was excellent. We'll be back.

My wife and I have just returned from a weekend break at this lovely guesthouse in the heart of Ambleside. The owners', Stuart and Janet are superb hosts and go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
The rooms are very well appointed and as previous guests have stated the breakfast is excellent. Nothing is too much for the owners and as many reviews testify the fact that guests continously return is testament to just how good this guesthouse is.
We would most certainly consider returning in the future.

Highly enjoyable weekend!

I can honestly say that the ‘Wordsworth’ has got to be the best guest house that my wife and I have ever stayed in over our forty three years of marriage. On arrival we were met at the door by Janet (owner) who showed us to our room, which was room No: 3. The room itself had recently been re-furbished and was perfect, we had a large king sized bed which was very comfortable and there was new dressing gowns and slippers for us to use. Our new en-suite bathroom was well appointed with shower gel, conditioner, hand soap along with large fluffy white bath towels. Janet showed us to the dining room were she pointed out the offer of a free glass of wine along with a range of home made cakes which went down a treat later in the day. Breakfast was out of this world, she had various cereals, yogurts, fruit juices etc followed by a range of cooked breakfasts which were perfect. We couldn’t thank Janet enough for her kindness and consideration and we will certainly look to stay there again in the near future.
