We had a wonderful stay at Meadowbank. We stayed in a family room which was impeccably clean, with lovely neutral decor and large windows with an incredible view.

The breakfast was made to order and delicious! Our daughter loved the warm, home baked bread each morning and there was plenty of options to choose from. 

We would not hesitate to stay again. A wonderful B & B within a perfect location to explore all Ambleside has to offer on foot.

Perfect location just 5 minutes down the road to all the shops, pubs and restaurants. I had a two night stay at Meadow Bank, my room was a single with lovely decor and was very clean and comfortable. The views from the landing stairs and dining room were beautiful and very welcoming when having breakfast which was a large full English very satisfying, overall I had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend.

My husband and I love visiting the Lake district and walking the wainwrights. We usually stay in Keswick but was staying in Ambleside for the Lakeland trails trail race. Meadowbank was in a charming location but very near the centre (5 minute walk) It has enough parking for all the rooms. we had a lovely large room that overlooked a field of sheep. The room was comfortable and very quiet. The bed was more comfy than our own. The breakfasts were amazing and one morning I had a homemade chocolate and banana muffin that was absolutely lovely and fresh from oven.  Cannot fault anything and the owner was very friendly and was very knowledgeable of the area. We will definitely be coming back when we are walking fells near Ambleside. We will also be back again next year for the Lakeland trails.

Fantastic B&B. Our experience from start to finish was perfect. Booking was easy, the breakfast was preorder but a wide variety of choices, including fresh bread and vegan black pudding. Mike was the perfect host, helpful and friendly without being intrusive, and a great sense of humour. The view from our room was glorious and we were lucky enough to watch red deer, rabbits and badgers from our window. The place was spotless, the room was well sized and had everything you needed. Location is great for Ambleside, the nearby Badger Bar and Grasmere. I've already sent several friends the details to go and visit and I'm hoping we will be returning some time soon. 

Large room, great decor with all the mod con's. TV, USB plug sockets, modern bathroom with drench shower. Cracking breakfast in a breakfast room with a view of the fells.

In my opinion the best value B&B in Ambleside. 

Stayed for two nights as we explored the Lakes.  The host is very welcoming and the room was nice, big and easy fitted 2 adults and an 11 Yr old. 
We enjoyed our breakfasts and would recommend staying here.  There's plenty of parking and only a few minutes walk into town. 

We visited Ambleside for our holiday to the lakes and it was such a nice time. The hotel was lovely, breakfast was amazing, host was friendly. Rooms were lovely with lots of storage space and beds very comfortable. Thank you for such a nice stay :)

Excellent B&B situated in Ambleside. I wasn't expecting much as I paid a modicum of what I usually pay to stay near Ambleside but I was pleasantly surprised. Room was large for a single and tastefully decorated. TV, shower etc all worked perfectly. 

Mike the host was welcoming and made a cracking breakfast (Breakfast served in room that has a great view toward Loughrigg Fell). The homemade bread was a nice touch. Everything was explained in terms of room, breakfast order etc.

I will be visiting again in the future as this B&B is excellent.

The accommodation had a good large car park and it was in walking distance of Ambleside, admittedly virtually the last house, but it meant it was quiet. The views were beautiful. The breakfasts lovely. The owner was lovely and friendly, and really helpful with information. The bed was lovely and comfy and the TV high quality. If I'm being really picky, it was a boiling few days and the window didn't open, there were no fans or aircon, but most places would be in the same boat. There was only a half hour slot for breakfast, but at the time we stayed it wasn't to busy and the owner was managing on his own due to his wife being unavailable due to sickness. It was fine for us anyway, but the teenagers were less happy. There is no way it would put us off stopping again. We really enjoyed our stay.

Just spent 5 fabulous nights at Meadowbank. Beautiful setting and short walk into Ambleside with plenty of parking spaces. Delicious breakfast every morning and Mike was a fabulous host making us feel so welcome. Thank you Mike for a fabulous break. Chris & Colin.

Very nice Guest House. Mike was very helpful with everything we asked him. Room was spacious and clean. Nice view. Breakfast was pre order. The breakfast was very nice. Well cooked and tasty. Definitely would stay again. Very close to bus stops and only a short walk into Ambleside. Plenty of places to eat and drink

The hotel is a beautiful old character house on the outskirts of Ambleside. This is the 2nd time we've stayed - first time was lovely, but this time was even better as we were in the huge master bedroom, with a beautiful feature window looking out over the garden towards Ambleside church. The location couldn't be better, as it's less than 10 minutes walk from Ambleside centre, and right on the main road, but totally secluded and hidden away. Loads of walks from the hotel - we just left the car in the ample on-site parking, and walked every day, but we were blessed with amazing weather throughout our stay. The wonderful full English breakfasts every morning were a great way to start the day, and we loved the yoghurt pots. Mike is also a great host - very friendly and efficient, and full of local knowledge. Really enjoyed our stay, and looking forward to coming back again.

A warm welcome and beautiful scenery await you at this b + b. There is plenty of parking and it’s only a 10 min walk into town and all the restaurants/eating places. It’s also on a lot of walking trails.
The rooms are large and spacious, the beds are warm and comfortable. Even though the b+b is on the main road the rooms are quiet. 
The breakfast is freshly cooked to your requirements and is delicious and very filling.
The only downsides is the rooms were cold during the night, so you may need a hot water bottle.

Excellent location

We've been guests at Meadowbank for the past week, and had an absolutely wonderful stay. Perfectly located right on the edge of Ambleside, and backing onto open countryside, its only a couple of minutes walk to all the shops, cafés and restaurants, and also makes a great base for some amazing walks around the local hills and fells - and plenty of free onsite parking meant we could forget about the car and just go explore. 
Our room was quite small, but ideal for just the 2 of us, with a very comfortable bed, plenty of storage space and lovely views from our window. Tea and coffee is supplied, and it's got all the power points you could need. 
It's not pristine, but we wouldn't expect it to be - it's an old house full of character and wonderful old features, like the beautiful ceiling in the breakfast room - but it is spotlessly clean and well maintained, and they've taken the social distancing and sanitising measures very seriously. 
Breakfast was lovely every morning - plenty to eat, very tasty, and a perfect start for whatever we had planned for the day, and our host was always very friendly and helpful too, with good information about the local area - where to go, best walks, best places to park, etc. 
Overall, it's been a lovely place to stay, and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone. You'd be very hard pressed to find anywhere even half as good for the price and location, not to mention the fantastic hospitality.
