The Forge

We were able to check in early after a long drive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent choice of breakfast. Fantastic food in the evening and great atmosphere. Bus stops right outside to go to Whitby or a £10 taxi ride.
Highly recommended.

Easy to find plenty of parking, Excellent accommodation very comfortable rooms and very clean,Great location  10 minute drive yo whitby food is excellent as is all the staff would highly recommend and can't wait to visit and stay again would highly recommend.

Fantastic room with beautiful views, a great breakfast and a lovely landlady (and family)  Recommended.. beautiful area too, which is what brought us here in the 1st place.. Will be back when the pennies allow.. 

What a great place to stay within easy reach of Whitby and surrounding area with so much to do. A very friendly inn with pleasant and attentive staff. We were greeted on arrival by an extremely personable young man who offered his help with our luggage and explained the general procedures. The evening food menu was good and the choice of wines and ales were very much to our liking. The breakfast was very well prepared and just the ticker to start the day. All of the staff seemed young but very much on the ball, helpful and went out of their way to please. Our two night stay was just what we needed to help celebrate our birthdays and the overall pleasantness, helpfulness and ambience made our short break all the more acceptable, Thankyou to the great Forge team.

Booked the suite, and it was well worth it, spotlessly clean. Stayed for 3 nights, excellent food at night and breakfast.

The room was really clean and comfortable, the food was amazing both the evening meal and breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome by all but especially a young man called Will. He was very polite and helpful. I would highly recommend The Forge

An excellent establishment, short taxi drive to Whitby - local taxi service prompt and reliable. Owners very hospitable . Efficient check in and a super suite ….sleigh bed and nice furniture, bathroom super basic but that didn’t detract from my stay . Evening meal was good and lovely sea bass. Breakfast- recommended. Would I stay here again - yes. 

What a gem of a place.  The food, including full english breakfast was excellent and the chips were delicious and home made.
The room we had was a suite which was very spacious and immaculately clean.  Nothing was too much trouble and the landlady and staff were very pleasant.  Would most definitely stay again. Delight place.

Very welcoming and friendly. Good menu and very helpful for gluten free options, with generous portions at a reasonable price. The rooms were light and airey with comfortable beds. The included breakfast menu was a good variety and nicely cooked.

We stayed at the Forge for a few days last week.
Accommodation was comfortable and clean.
Staff were great. Breakfast was wonderful. A full English everyday which was cooked to perfection and no skimping on portions.
We also had some meals in the restaurant which again was lovely and very reasonably priced.
Very close to Whitby centre so made for an excellent location.
We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay

Stayed for only one night on the way home to south coast from Scotland. After a day exploring Whitby and the Abbey, we were welcomed by a friendly young man who showed us to our room with double aspect to the front and side where I found it relaxing watching the sheep in the adjacent field. The pub car park was full at 6.00 pm but plenty of parking in the road outside. The room itself was spacious and very clean. Plenty of tea and coffee provided and toiletries in the spacious bathroom - good shower as well. A very comfortable and quiet sleep was followed by a lovely cooked breakfast served by friendly staff. Overall, really enjoyed our short stay.

Good location and no complaints at all.

Have visited on a few occasions for drinks and food and thought we would try a stay over as well.  We wasn’t disappointed. All the staff here were very friendly and welcoming and the rooms were great.  Had an evening meal which all four of us really enjoyed and breakfast in the morning was amazing.  Can’t wait to visit again whether it’s for a meal or stay over. Great place big thanks to all the staff 👍😀

Amazing place, food and service😀😀

Stayed here for a couple of days and what can I say? We loved it here. The staff were amazing and the room was spacious sparkling clean. We would of loved to of stayed a couple more days but they were fully booked. The evening meal we had was outstanding. Potions are mega   We will be back next time we are in the area

Couple of days away

We visited Whitby,  as we had never been there before.  Wanted a nice place to have a meal for my husbands 60th Birthday and also our wedding anniversary.  Wanted something more than just fish and chips and after having a good look we opted for a place that basically dissappointed.  Had booked in advance.  Won't go into anymore details, but we ended at the Forge, not booked in and on a Saturday, they were soooo accomodatng and rescued our evening.  Food went far beyond expectations.   Thank you sooooo much, and rescuing us from a meal deal at Spar, LOL x

Amzing, having been let down elsewhere

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We arrived at lunchtime and had a sandwich and homemade soup before going into Whitby for the afternoon. Our room was spacious and clean. Our evening meal was delicious- would recommend the field mushrooms with stilton. Service was good. Breakfast was good, table service and the chef would cook whatever breakfast combination you wanted-all served piping hot.

The room was spacious and clean great shower and facilities 
Every member of staff was polite friendly and couldn't do enough for you 
Breakfast was good lots of choice from full English to salmon and scrambled eggs with full range of cereal and fruit 
We ate there for the 3 nights we stayed and again the food was brilliant especially the lamb burger and the homemade chips are excellent 
Drinks are well priced too 3.95 for a pint of decent lager is bad at all 
Will definitely be going back and would recommend it to anyone
