Just had the most amazing roast dinner at The Brewery Tap hands down the best!

I went for the pork, while my mum and son had the beef, and every bite just melted in the mouth. Everything was freshly cooked to perfection.
The team there are so accommodating, efficient, and genuinely happy to help, it made the whole experience even better.

If you’re craving a proper roast, The Brewery Tap is the place to go! 👏🍽️

We had a really good meal here one night and drinks here another night. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a good choice of beer.  I was able to have herbal tea and my husband his proper beer. It is obviously popular with the locals and has a good atmosphere. If I am back this way this is a pub I will return to.

Stayed in Abingdon for a weekend, booked table at The Tap Friday evening. Very busy, however staff were really attentive, beers were superb, food was even better, We consequently booked again for Sunday, same quality. A truly excellent venue for food and drink cannot recommend enough. Pulled pork was amazing.

We were not staying here but were temped by the extensive food menu. Their home made pies are to die for: we had the lamb & mint and their beef bourguignon and both were top notch: full of meat and served with a fabulous gravy.

So good in fact that we re-booked again for the following night !

HINT: watch out for the Specials board to the left of the bar as you enter.

We love this pub! We went with the children and unfortunately there was a long wait for food. When I say long, I mean over an hour (usually it's  never been longer than 15 mins for us). However, the service was great and they very kindly gifted us a child's meal due to the waiting times. 

Our food was amazing, I particularly enjoyed the deep filled club chicken ciabatta with soup of the day, which was fished chowder. This soup was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life! 

Do go there, everything is delicious including the Sunday roasts. Make sure to book to avoid any disappointment.  

When we arrived at The Brewery Tap we went into the bar to get the keys. We were greeted by a friendly person who took us outside through another door into the room area. This was such a surprise. We had the most fantastic and large room with large ensuite. It was very clean and had a very comfortable bed and bedding together with two easy chairs. When you were in the room, you were not bothered by any activity in the pub or garden.
Would we stay again......certainly!

Located on the far side of town this venue is well worth staying at if you’re in the area. Our room was on the third floor (two flights of stairs) and was very spacious, smart and well decorated. The venue is adjacent to a major road so you have to accept the traffic noise which starts early in the morning. 8888. The guy who checked us in was very friendly and helpful and our bags had already been taken to the room for us. Breakfast was a self-service buffet located on the 2nd floor with lots of items to choose from but had then to be taken to the room (or outside) to be consumed. If you do go outside remember to take your key to the door at the bottom of the stairs (situated off the courtyard) as it’s self-locking. As we were walking part of the Thames path the venue kindly agreed to take delivery and pass on our bags to the baggage transfer company (so a very big thanks).We also ate at the bar downstairs later that evening and as its name suggests it has a great choice of real ales to choose from. The food was also very good and reasonably priced, portion sizes are also generous. The bar staff were great, very friendly and helpful in explaining the beers and food choices. It seemed very popular with the locals and was very busy whilst we were there which is always a good sign.

Travelled up from Devon to surprise a family member (40th birthday). This accommodation is perfect if your looking for some where to stay on the high street.Rooms were very spacious and clean and the staff were very friendly.

We would certainly book again.

Still the best Sunday lunch pub that I know of. Good service and the lunches themselves are generous and delicious. Roast beef was several slices of good quality meat accompanied by swede, cauli cheese, broccoli, maple carrots and roasties and slathered in gravy. (And horseradish slaw, which was nice, but can we not have old school horseradish sauce?). Too full ater all that for dessert, but top marks to the pub for being able to produce a decent cup of tea afterwards, using a small pot so that you don't end up with a weak brew unlike most places.

Delicious food, attentive service 

A Hidden Gem

I stopped in for a couple of pints of beer on a Thursday night. I have heard that there is good music at the weekend and a lively quiz on a Tuesday but I was pleased for a little peace and quiet. I saw a wide selection of beers on draught but for the life of me couldn't work out what they were from my position at the bar. A good deal of bottle choices in the fridges too but again I couldn't see what was what. I feel there is a great impatience with bar staff who expect a customer to arrive at an unknown pub to immediately know what they want. My feedback would be to appreciate that a customer is seeing what is available and give them time to select something. Subsequently when I left I noticed that some of the beers are listed by the bar but it wasn't obvious to me when I ordered my drinks. There were many populated tables and those eating seemed to enjoy their food. It certainly looked and smelt good from my point of view. Staff were friendly and hooray for collecting glasses and wiping down tables promptly. I shall visit again but please do assist me with a beer menu in clear print. M Fenton Aug 2023
