Grand Aquarium

We stayed here and used mainly as a base as we like excursions and exploring. We did spend some time here and used the facilities. When we arrived it was early hours of the morning, check in felt rushed We were helped to our room by staff, a few problems with air con but was soon resolved after going back down to reception after it went off when they’d left from helping us with luggage. There was a little misunderstanding to the bbq and foam party, they mentioned it at check in but didn’t say it came as a cost, so attended ate very little due to not liking some of the food, and then came to pay for drinks at the end of the night and it was on the bottom of the receipt, and we felt like the price didn’t represent what we’d actually eaten from the bbq, it was costly to say we ate little and could of had something more substantial elsewhere, but we didn’t dispute this as we’d used the facilities and the kids had a great time, partner felt a bit unwell the following day from the bbq food. The foam party was good but very slippy around and great atmosphere, we didn’t attend the second foam party due to not enjoying the food on our first night. We ended that evening with birthday celebrations thanks to Saliye organising a cake with my partner. The pool was lovely refreshing, great choice of pool equipment to use from communal box but a lot left after usage around and in the pool which was left to staff to clean up at the end of the day. Slide was open a certain times of the day, steps and tiles around pool were quiet slippy, so I’d recommend shoes for children especially. Pool is a bit of a drop off the steps something I didn’t expect when I first got in was a bit of a shock! The rooms were clean and fresh towels replaced daily if left in the bathroom, good variety of utensils, lacked toaster but we knew this before arriving and took a small two piece one with us. Shower was hit and miss with the pressure and had to stop part way through for it to drain as tray filled up quick. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the second floor with view across the pool was lovely and nice to sit on the balcony and enjoy the morning sun. Restaurant food was lovely and drinks but we found it cheaper to go out into İçmeler to eat and drink as it was a short bus ride from the top of the road outside Tommy’s bar 40TL each. I’d recommend Tommy’s bar just at the top of the road from the hotel, Masala Rest in İçmeler town, Ibiza Beach and Cafe Savas in İçmeler on the beach front for food and drinks. Saliye was absolutely lovely, she remembered all our names from meeting us on our first day, she organised a birthday cake with my partner for my birthday and booked us into the spa on our second morning £20 per person and it was a lovely relaxing experience without our children. Nothing was ever too much trouble, we’d booked an excursion and we realised that the operator had put the wrong hotel name and had put the club rather than the grand, Saliye soon sorted this for us by ringing the company office and Club to inform them. If you needed anything she wasn’t far away for assistance! If we’d been out for some duration of the day we were always able to find sun beds around the pool when we’d return and sometimes in the sun to enjoy some pool time. I’d happily return here in the future or try one of their other apartments they have to offer at the Garden annex or Club.
