Akra Fethiye Tui Blue Sensatori All Inclusive

Where do I start? After a quite traumatic build-up to this holiday, caused by the non-completion of our original booking (Royal Atlantis Icon) we changed our booking, dodged a bullet and fell on our feet with the Akra Fethiye. It really does live up to its reviews and probably explains why it has so many return guests. From arrival to departure, all levels of service were exceptional. We travelled as a family of 4 (2 children aged 12 and 15), had a fantastic week and genuinely didn't want to leave. Room - We stayed in a mixed area swim-up room (2506). It was ideally located and had sun until about 5pm. Before travelling, we were concerned it wouldn't be big enough but we were pleasantly surprised and felt it had everything we needed. Pools - Excellent. I've never spent so much time in the water! Kids loved the Activity Pool as this was where they held the games, water polo etc. Plenty of sun beds - it was noticeably busier towards the end of our holiday however we never had an issue finding some. A small selection of slides but our children still enjoyed them. Daughter loved the aqua board challenges and water games. Son had lots of fun taking part in water polo. Food & drink - Great selection with so much choice. We tried 2 a'la carte restaurants (Basilico and Amber). Basilico was our favourite and the steaks we had there were incredible. Never used the main restaurant for lunch as much preferred dining in the Italian or Sunset restaurant. The patisserie/coffee shop had a wide selection of cakes and the snack bar served jacket potatoes, sandwiches, kebabs, ice-cream and fruit. Drinks included international brands but make sure that you ask for them. Great variety of cocktails. Entertainment - No complaints. Watched a couple of excellent shows in the amphitheatre - our favourites were 'Pinkish' and an act involving Mongolian acrobats. Piano bar had regular live singing from resident musicians and the new Caretta beach bar had a lovely chilled vibe. Great for watching sunsets. Lots more going on but it was insanely hot when we were there (46 degrees) so we didn't always make the most of the activities and entertainment. Beach - Sea was lovely and warm. Would probably recommend beach shoes for young children but we were fine. Hired a cabana one day for our wedding anniversary and it was a lovely treat. Staff - Excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Always busy and the resort is kept immaculate. A special thank you to Murat Karabulut - he was so friendly and worked so hard to make your restaurant experience enjoyable. A big shout out to Gemma, Hanna, Kalindi and Magnus - they work so hard and obviously love their job. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed participating in the youth activities (archery, pool games etc) and I loved cooling off in the daily Aqua fit classes. Overall, a fabulous hotel. Our first visit but hopefully not our last.
