I’ve been traveling as much as I can,sometimes single and sometimes with my family of 4.This hotel has a soul and spirit.I feel relaxed and happy here.When I sit in its garden looking over the sea through the castle,my all griefs is slipping by and I feel breathing.It is so needless to talk about how beautiful beaches and sea this island has however I must mention Mr Coskun -the owner- for making this hotels one of a kind.

Kale Pansiyon is the ideal retreat to stay if you want to avoid the crowds and the noise downtown. This small hotel located on the hilltop of Bozcaada offers spectacular views of the harbour and the castle and is a 5 minute walking distance to the port and the restaurants. The rooms are clean and comfortable with air conditioning. The owners treat guests with unpretentious hospitality and are quite helpful. Breakfast is a real treat which includes local cheeses and original jams and served on the platform across from the hotel. Compared to the overpriced options on the island this place definitely stands out as a true travelers find. Make sure you book here in advance and enjoy.

We stayed in this pension for 3 nights.  It has been under new management for the last year.  A warm welcome.  The owners are pleasant helpful and accommodating.  The place was simple, clean and cosy.  Lovely views from window.  Breakfast was a delight ... Fresh food and a little different each day.  Very pleasant stay and thoroughly recommend.

Very friendly people. Clean rooms and nice breakfast. Even though it is high season, Mr. Coskun made sure everything stays neat and perfect. This place is highly recommended and matched, even exceeded, our expectations. The price is acceptable, 180try per night for double bed room.

If you wanna go to bozcaada, you should definitely go and stay there...a lovely and cosy atmosphere...nice view...marvellous breakfast...and the owners are very friendly and helpful...they said that they had bought the place last summer and renovated it...and it is obvious that they like the place and made a great effort to make it more beautiful...highly recommended!

Charming Island Retreat

Everything was perfect

Let me qualify the title by first saying that we stayed at the end of Ramadan which is the very height of tourist season in Bozcaada. Regardless, we followed lonely planets recommendation and payed the extremely high price of 200 lira per night (normal pensions range between 60 to 100) for the room after being assured the room was "very nice" over the phone. On arrival we were shown downstairs to what I can only assume is a storage room or staff quarters (?possibly a dungeon for naughty guests?). There were two single beds even though we'd been assured a double - we were told to move the beds together and when we did this we discovered mould climbing the walls. There was a shared bathroom even though we'd been assured an ensuite. The pension had also tried to get us to make payment in advance and I'm SO glad we thought this was dodgy so we didn't. After much discussion with the rather unfriendly staff we agreed to be moved to a far better room upstairs for three nights and then found different (and far nicer) accommodation for our other three nights on the island for the same price. The room we were eventually put in was ok but it was not cleaned at all the three nights we were there - which, in a country where you are supposed to place your used toilet paper in the little bin beside the loo rather than flushing it, is not ideal - and it wasn't air-conditioned which is almost unheard of even in budget stays. We also discovered the owners had a bunch of their friends staying (probably at heavily discounted rates) in the nice rooms while they were attempting to shove unsuspecting overseas tourists into the crumby ones. The only upsides were the great views from the terrace and the decent breakfast spread. Unless it's truly your final option I suggest you find somewhere else.
