One word to describe this Hotel '' Amazzzzing'', I spent one week with my wife in Manzel El Kateb, it was a delight, I specially thanks Kamel & Doriss for their smile, simplicity and conviviality, you made our stay in Djerba island a dream come true, Hope to be back to Djerba next time.

We spend 1 night at Menzel ELkhateb , every thing was marvelous, room was outstanding , hospitality ,break fast .
People there made us feel like home , we can never forget this place it was very special

I stayed at Menzel el Kateb with my husband, our 3-month old baby daughter and a friend - and couldn't have wished for better hosts. Doris and Kamel are wonderful hosts and are truly interested in making their guests feel relaxed and taken care of. The Menzel has 3 different units - one for luxury stays, one block in which individual rooms can be booked, and one block with two rooms which can be booked together. Each of these units is like a large mansion with several common areas, including a beautiful porch overlooking a grove of date and orange trees. We spent every morning and evening there enjoying the tastiest breakfasts, splendid sunsets and some much-appreciated cool breeze in the midst of searing hot days. 

The Menzel also has a swimming pool in a quiet place. 

Doris and Kamel are knowledgeable hosts and we had several wonderful conversations on the history and current affairs of the region. 

Good beaches are a very short taxi ride away and our hosts can recommend trustworthy taxi drivers.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Menzel El Katab, our hosts, Doris and Kamel, are delightful, charming and generous. They accomodated and anticipated our needs, prepared excellent meals, ordered our taxis, and  gave valuable advice , making our sojourn there as comfortable and worry free as possible. Doris is a superb cook and Kamel's jams, made from their own fruit trees, are a wonderful addition to the breakfast. The setting is incomparable, a vast orchard of date, olive, orange, apple , pomagrante trees and splendid homes. For pet lovers, there are two gentle and enthusiastic dogs to pet and fuss over . The rooms are lovely and well kept. The complex is a relatively short taxi ride to the souk and to other places of interest on the island and the hosts are very accomodating about ordering the taxi for you. I greatly enjoyed a little tour of the farm with Doris one hot afternoon and the barbecue that Kamal prepared for us and a couple of his friends one evening. Highly recommended.

This place is great for families, friends, couples or solo travelers. You will simply get top notch hosting and authenticity. The hosts are great people and immediately make you feel at home. The homes ooze simplicity, sophistication, artistic flair, history and tradition.
Beaches are 10-25 minutes away by car depending on where you are going. It is definitely not a drawback and may even be an advantage given the peaceful vibe.
