We really enjoyed to stay at this guesthouse - the room was fresh and clean. New matress in the bed and the sheets were fresh. We even had a little balcony.
Good location to the bars and restaurants in the Avenida. 
We started the day at 7.30 with a little morningwalk to QPS, where we bought fresh coconuts to drink. Had a coffe on Rituals on our way back. Masseys store is next to the guesthouse.

Clean and excellent location!

A small guest house ideal for Carnival visitors since it is in the heart of the action. It is ideal for the Caribbean who wants to shop in Trinidad since it is easy for transportation to the city. The rooms have most amenities and the prices are adequate for those who have a budget to keep. It is close to a large grocery chain as well as restaurants and bars to relax. Food available around range from Chinese, Indian, gyro's, and local.

Vacation

Stayed at La Calypso for two weeks away from Barbados. Easy access to the town,restaurants,taxi,bars and supermarkets. We really enjoyed to walk about. It would provide cheap prices but not at all. The room was always fresh and clean when we came home from town and the staff is very friendly. - April 2013

Quiet location

If you are looking for a simple place to rest your head, eat wash and be on your way then La Calypso is the place. They offer rooms for individual or families. You can have bathrooms and showers in or out of your room. There is a kitchen with all that's needed and nice verandas to sit, eat or sight see. Best of all, the staff is friendly and very helpful. I was in a bind being new to the city and Keisha at the front desk went out of her way on many occasions to help me. I am eternally grateful for this. La Calypso is situated in the heart of the business and school with many upscale and average shopping available, and a large variety of restaurants to satisfy all. I would return!

Great place to rest your head

we were a walk-in guest here recently, and i must say the room is poor, it is desperate for a make over. cant full the bathtub, water keeps running out, whole wash room is flooded when using the shower, no a/c remote. room is very small like a dorm quality not a guesthouse. after frequent visits to alicia's i was think the same good thing about youll. its ashamed....... only thing i was comfortable with is the location, none else. waste of time...........

WARNING! Do not stay in any circumstances!

This is a smelly and dirty hotel with many sketchy people coming and going.
Prostitution around the hotel and people selling illegal things.

We went for a breakfest during the morning hours and when we came back our room had been broken into and all our expensive things were stolen.

This felt like an inside job because hotel workers did not allow us to see the security cameras even though they were pointing to our room.

We filed a police report.
