Anavana Beach Resort Hotel

My Mum and I stayed at Anavana for four nights and cannot recommend it enough! It was actually my Mum’s second time staying there. She came during the late 90s when it was known as Poppies. Anavana is its own little oasis, with beautiful gardens, great old trees and water features all throughout. The cottages are rustic in style, and ours was fitted out with everything we needed. And there was so much attention to detail, like a traditional foot-washing jar out the front of our cottage which was great coming in from the beach, and a house-made body lotion that smelt absolutely amazing! I ended up buying some from reception on our way out. We also really appreciated that our cottage was set-back from the main path and sheltered by some bushes, meaning we could sit out on the front verandah while still having some privacy. Nattaya, the in-house massage therapist, was absolutely amazing. So amazing that even after moving to a different hotel, I came back on our second-last day in Koh Samui just to get another massage from her! And most of all, every single staff member at Anavana was so warm, welcoming and accomodating. A special shout out to Ame, who I think is the resort manager, who went above and beyond by helping me retrieve my phone that I’d lost in a taxi, as well as Joy and Jimmy. The whole team truely made our time at Anavana, and Koh Samui in general, so memorable. Thank you so much!
